As much as I like tortas, cemitas poblanos are even better. Better bread, better fillings, and the Oaxacan string cheese elevates them quite far above tortas. Plenty of places in LA to get them.

You guys can do an entire show on mole alone. There are all sorts of different ways to make it. I call it the curry of Mexico. Look these up. Mole de olla, mole rojo, mole rosado, mole, mancha manteles, mole verde, mole blanco... they vary in flavor profiles and heat. Some are made with chocolate. It's really interesting and delicious.
I think it depends where you from for sure because same as the other person ceviche in my family defaults to shrimp and even when we visiting family in Mexico its the same it usually has shrimp, at least where we go.

Hello guys! I belong to a Filipino-Canadian family! We often watch you as we share our meals, and we love what you do! Pork Chili Verde is one of our family's favorite dishes. We discovered it when my husband and I are doing "test- kitchen" (when we try making foods we wouldn't normally come across). This dish has a tomatillo base and a few different kinds of chili, not just for heat but for a flavor punch. It's so good that it made it to our meal rotation. Must try!

In the Phillipines, we have a dish called Caldereta. It looks pretty similar to their caldo de res. ❤️ I love how similar certain Filipino foods can be to Mexican dishes because of Spanish influence.

You need to try Pambazos, they are tortas with chorizo and potato. Also sopes, guaraches, gorditas, mexican shrimp cocktail, tacos dorados de papa, horchata, agua de Jamaica o tamarindo. For.the soap you forgot albondigas, meatball soap....the best. Nopales con Chile, cactus. Tortitas de camaron, shrimp patties, usually cooked during lent. Lentejas, lentils. (Beans) Frijoles rancheros and frijoles puercos, two different bean dishes. Machaca, shredded beef. Camarones culichis, typical shrimp dish from Sinaloa.

I think that food truck food is like the Mexican fast food that is good and fast similar to burgers and fries. But the meals you had are sometimes more of what the mom or dad cook at home, more Authentic definitely. You should try, birria, barbacoa, carnitas (all meats) and then mundudo, both the red and white one ( similar to Pho)

Tamale hack. Lots of households in Mexico, throw tamales on a skillet with light lard. The tamale is left on the skillet until the tamale is crunchy. Doesn’t get any better than that. This is typically done for breakfast.

As a native American woman, I would love to see the Fung Bros doing a native food crawl. Doesn't matter which tribe, any tribe will do! It would be nice to see an indigenous americas segment where you explore all the indigenous foods all across the americas, from North, Central, South, from North to South, East to West. We get stuck in the same kind of box as China does when it comes to the perception of what cultural food is to that country based off of the limited Americanized version we're given. It would be amazing to see all of the tribes of the americas united and represented, no walls, no boarders just all indigenous.

as a Mexican, I loved y'all going beyond tacos. If you're ever in Jalisco or maybe in a restaurant owned by people from Jalisco - try the jericallas. It's a custard like flan, but the top gets this crispy carmalized layer almost like creme brulee. It's delicious.

I think that food truck food is like the Mexican fast food that is good and fast similar to burgers and fries. But the meals you had are sometimes more of what the mom or dad cook at home, more Authentic definitely. You should try, birria, barbacoa, carnitas (all meats) and then mundudo, both the red and white one ( similar to Pho)
But the staple of every Mexican meal is the beans and tortillas.

Tamale hack. Lots of households in Mexico, throw tamales on a skillet with light lard. The tamale is left on the skillet until the tamale is crunchy. Doesn’t get any better than that. This is typically done for breakfast.

As a native American woman, I would love to see the Fung Bros doing a native food crawl. Doesn't matter which tribe, any tribe will do! It would be nice to see an indigenous americas segment where you explore all the indigenous foods all across the americas, from North, Central, South, from North to South, East to West. We get stuck in the same kind of box as China does when it comes to the perception of what cultural food is to that country based off of the limited Americanized version we're given. It would be amazing to see all of the tribes of the americas united and represented, no walls, no boarders just all indigenous.

as a Mexican, I loved y'all going beyond tacos. If you're ever in Jalisco or maybe in a restaurant owned by people from Jalisco - try the jericallas. It's a custard like flan, but the top gets this crispy carmalized layer almost like creme brulee. It's delicious.

The fact that they barely touched the top of the Mexican cuisine.... there is so much variety and variations depending on the region and state. I live the appreciation to Mexican cuisine.
