Just looking back through all the old comments on this vlog, just shows how so very special your Dad was. Instantly loveable, gentle, kind not to mention hilarious. So sorry for your loss Stef. Goes without saying you were so lucky to have had him as your Dad xx
Touching video Stef. One of your best, beautifully captured. Longer shots makes for a well composed video, makes you really appreciate the moments. Quiet, pensive moments between you and your father really gave the perspective of the ‘time’ genre. You are the only person I actively wait to watch. Well done.
I personally think something should be done about that; socially I mean. I also think it's sad to expect that. It's such a normal thing to think that older people live on their own. Why though? Other societies are able to function with more of a balance, we should too. So, yeah, I think something should and can be done about it. It won't be a fast change though. Just a thought. :)
You could always do some volunteering with the elderly and offer up your spare time to go and visit them at they're homes so they have someone to talk to and spend time with. Elderly people can get very lonely and socially isolated especially if they don't have many or any friends close by that they can go and visit or if they are not mobile anymore and they can't walk far. It's sad how many elderly people get ignored by they're own communities and don't look out for them or even pop in to visit, make sure that they are okay. Now we are heading into Autumn/Winter the elderly need company now more than ever so maybe consider it?
@@gcbeautylover1 most live alone because they have lost family, friends and loved ones so they become socially isolated and lonely. Also when some elderly people are no longer mobile so they can get out and about to clubs or the shops or doing things they enjoy or used to it makes it even harder for them too
I will miss your Dad. Watching his love for the boys, his unapologetic honesty, his singing, his hilarious, sarcastic and witting comments. He was so full of life and I always thought you are a great representation of your Dad. From one person who lost their Dad too soon - my heart feels with you. Cheers Grand dad.
This was one of my favourites. Theres just something so heartwarming about Grandad Michalak. He seems like such a kind soul and you can tell how much he loves his family. I live near Belfast and will definitely be keeping an eye out for his funky little car.
This is one of my most favourite vlogs from you guys ever, and I've been watching since Grayson was tiny baby. You could feel the love between Stef & grandad, and how he was so happy that you came and spend some time with him. There is something so special about this edit and vlog. Great job & happiest of birthdays to Rufus & Grandad Michalak
Let me just thank you Steph for this video that has made me realize something. I've been struggling to communicate with my dad. I'm sad to say that we don't talk at all. I find it quite difficult. I've realized that I don't need to have deep meaningful conversations with him. Maybe just sitting down with him and talking about silly basic things like what we ate, or mountains or whatever. That's all we need, to spend time together. Thank you so much.
"When I was your age I had about ten jobs" "Don't have to worry about the cold weather or anything, or Brexit" "I've got a confession, I like puffins" "The education in my day was so good, Stef" Grandad needs his own YT channel.
I honestly love grandad so much, if you just point a camera at him the vlogs are already made haha. He's so entertaining, and funny when he doesn't even mean to. It's great.
They way grandad greets Steph every time with so much love melts my heart ❤️ plus his fashion with the suit and converse... killing the fashion game! Goals! Love you guys ❤️
Such a beautiful vlog!! Found it adorable that your dad made the same comment about waitresses always coming to ask if the food is ok when you have your mouth full, that you did Steff, in a recent previous vlog 😂 hope you and the gang had a lovely week xxx
Oh my goodness! When he said that I had to pause the video because I was racking my brain trying to remember where I’d just heard that. I thought it was such a funny coincidence but didn’t realize it was Stef! That makes it so much better and really warms my heart. What a nice similarity to capture 💕
Stef. I cannot say how much I loved this one. It made me cry, made me laugh, made me wish I lived closer to my Dad so we could spend a day together like this. Your editing is so moving and graceful. Truly. Touched my heart 💕
Your dad was a wonderful character and he truly marvelous human being. He will be missed. My prayers are going out to you and your family during this difficult time. Thanks for sharing him with us
I’m commenting here after hearing the terribly sad news about your Dad passing away Stef. You’ve made tons of lovely tributes to him over the years via your channel but this one is really beautiful. The way he talks to you and the boys, the way he carries all his years of experience and his cheeky sense of humour are captured so perfectly here. He seems like he was a real gent, a lovely Dad and a wonderful Grandad to the boys. I hope in time you can find the strength to watch some of these back and revisit some memories. Until then, go gently with yourself.
Very beautiful and touching moments with your Dad. My Dad passed away 1 month ago and so this really touched my heart. He was 91 and still living independently. Praying your Dad has many happy healthy years ahead
It’s strange how vividly I remember this video. Your dad had such a beautiful, bright, interesting and kind air about him. You captured his “way” in your videos in such a stunning manner. I loved his stories and you can tell in your cinematography how much you love and cherish him. I’m glad you have these memories to look back on, and to show G and R. To your dad, may you rest in peace, continue to send love and guidance down to Stef, Hannah, Grayson & Rufus. All my love X
what a lovely dad you have and also bit of style icon!? love seeing him in an aboriginal design t-shirt & converse. legend & what a nice video about him, nice work.
Lol the little smile that Stef gives his dad at 5:39 when he’s dad is dipping the bread in to the soup!! How cute being worried about whether or not it’s good manners to dip it in 😊
To this day, this is one of my favourite vlogs. It made me so emotional the first time I watched and now it makes me emotional on another level. Grandad Michalak and his anecdotes will be deeply missed. Rest in Peace❤️
This weeks vlog was particularly beautiful to me. I’ve recently just lost my grandparents, and to see you with your dad reminded me of many wonderful times I spent with my grandparents. Thank you Stef for this
He was genuinely one of the most loving humans I’ve ever seen! You can see the love in his eyes for each and every one of you and I’m so so sorry for your loss and your pain during this time. I will never get over the humble way he’s always spoken about life and I do, I really do love his car. A lot, very unique indeed! ❤️ And I really hope he got his dreams of becoming a swallow in his next life ❤️
I love the relationship between you both. These are such raw, precious memories and I bet you’re so glad you’ve caught them. Sending you all my best wishes🤍 Ps. Grayson making you the sign out of Lego melted my heart, such a sweet boy
I love that you took the time to spend a few days with your Dad on his birthday! It seems like some people don't take the time to spend with their parents, but I would give anything to have just one second with mine. I lost my Dad almost 8 years ago and my Mom passed 2 years ago. Hug your parents people. Call them on the phone and tell them you love them. Time passes SO quickly and before you know it, they're gone. Lovely seeing Grandad, and a beautifully done video once again Stef. Thank you so much for doing what you do! ❤️
Im usually a silent viewer but want to send my condolences and love your way. I already rewatched this video right after your post announcing his passing. He was a lovely man and you two had a special bond, which is not something a lot of people can say they share with their parent(s). You are so lucky to have been raised by him and to not only have a parent but a friend in him. He may be gone but he lives on through you and the values he instilled in you, which is pretty spectacular. I will keep him in my prayers today and always. Loss and grief are weird to navigate, so take it easy Stef. Sending love and prayers from Toronto, Canada.
Obsessed with all the different audio bits used in this weeks video ! And LOVE all the shots of grandad.. whatever camera or lens is just bangin. AND can we saint him for picking up the dog poo thats not his ? lol
What an incredible man. Years from now I'm sure you'll be grateful you captured moments like this and have them to watch, as well as Gracie and Rufus. Sending lots of love 💛
I love this, happy birthday Grandad ! My Dad is 76 next month and you got me right in the feels. I get to the end every week and want to watch all over again (and usually do), the sarcasm and humour, the editing, the love and the realness - its so so good. Far and away my favorite content on you tube xx
Such a character your dad, always loved him in your vlogs, we will miss him so so much! Wish you all the strength and love through this time, we are here for you stef!❤🌹
This video captures so much of what I love about you guys - you understand the simple challenges and joys of being a part of family and celebrate them so tenderly in your videos. Happy Birthday to Grandad! Also, the chats between Stef and Granddad ... LOL. So much bullshitting, I freaking love it.
I'll miss him very much in your videos. Been watching you for 6 years now and he made me laugh everytime when he appeared in your videos. I cannot imagine what you're going through at the moment, but I wish you all the best and hope the grief gets easier soon!
I remember the first time we were introduced to grandad and I remember feeling an instant comfort when I met him, even if it was virtually. My actual grandpa passed away when I was five and I have always wondered what he would be like if he’d met me as I am today. You gave me incredible insight into what it’s like to have that unconditional love.. what it looks like, what it would feel like..& I’ll always be grateful for that and for you, sharing the most vulnerable parts of your life. He will never know that I exist or that I found comfort in his existence, but I know who he was and what he meant to me & that’s all that matters. May you rest in Peace & love grandad your presence will be missed, especially from me all the way from Australia 🤍
I adore the bond you have with your Dad. You can tell it truly means the world to him having you visit. The in depth & random chats you have are the best and having all these memories to watch back is amazing! I’m 36 & my Dad passed away when I was 3 so I’ve never had that bond. I’d give anything for him to meet our children (currently pregnant with our 3rd daughter)!x
I love your Dad! I havent seen mine in almost 3 yrs. due primarily to distance. I miss him so much! I burst into tears when he opened the door for you and hugged you. You are lucky to have him. Please remember that! He loves you dearly!
#1) your dad’s car is super cool! Don’t be jealous! #2) your dad’s outfit with the white sneakers is so stylee and cute! Don’t be jealous! #3) I pause the video...your dad is right. Everest is taller! You’re a lucky guy to have such a smart dad. I’m less than 16 mins in. I might have to add to this. 😉 So sweet!
What an iconic father figure. I bet he is looking down at your family right now with a smile on his face. Sending lots of love to you at this sad time. xxx
Loved this one! One of my favorites. Your dad really loves you, it's so sweet. I love all the things you spoke about as well. I wish more people would kindly try to educate rather than just instantly hate. Hopefully things will change in the future. Thanks again, and I can't wait for the next one!
My mum bought me the classic Delia collection when I moved into my first flat. 'No home is complete without it' she said, 'Delia is the best!' I always remember her cracking it out for daulphinoise potatoes or the post christmas turkey flan. Can't beat Delia and Mary Berry! Gorgeous film this week Stef, thanks for sharing your artistry with us all. Your dad is a lovely, lovely man :)
This vlog made me so emotional, I’ve recently lost my grandma and I miss her so much but listening and watching your dad made me feel happy again for a while :) oh and I’ve loved the reason why he won’t get a dog is because he can’t handle the poop .. Steph your dad is so precious ❤️
Usually a silent watcher but needed to express how much I loved this. Life does fly by so quickly - crazy to think I started following along when it was just you two & squeaky G and now Roo is turning 1. Every week you raise the bar and create something truly spectacular
Thank you for sharing your wonderful, jolly dad with the world. So full of character, I really feel that I got to know him through your videos. Impossible not to smile at the things he would say and how he acted. A true sweetheart and so interesting. Rest easy. Thinking of the family.
9:15 got me - that's when the tears started. :( And bless Hannah talking about using her mum's recipe book as it's sentimental in this too. Sending so much strength to you all. ❤️
Oh Stef 😢❤️ Thank you for sharing Grandad with us. I remember this vlog as if it was yesterday. He always brought so much love and light to the videos with his little anecdotes etc. And I remember when he used to call Grayson his little butterball 💔 “Love many, trust a few and always paddle your own canoe” Rest well Grandad. Love to you all xxx
Loved this video 2 years ago, and love it still now. It’s so lovely that you have these memories captured to look back on, as well as the ones that you’ll forever cherish, and keep in your head. The bits that you have shared with us will truly be missed, your dad seemed like a true gem. RIP 🤍✨
What a lovely video showing the relationship between you and your dad. Grandad is one of my favourite “guests” who appear in your videos. I never realised how much he reminded me of my own grandad until now I’m sitting down to watch one of your videos after my own grandads unexpected death. The wisdom and knowledge you and he shared made me long for a few more hours chatting with my own grandad. Such a beautiful video. Happy birthday to him and Rufus ❤️
Honestly, you capture emotion like no one else I’ve found on this platform. What a precious thing you have created here, both this video specifically and the channel as a whole. Thank you for sharing these with us. It is truly special!
Watching this back after the horrible news, Stef. I hope you find the strength to watch this back one day, and may these happy memories be at the forefront of your mind when you think of your dad. He was his own charismatic storybook character. May he rest in peace ❤️
I’m so truly sorry your you heart ache and loss. This video now has a whole new meaning. I sit here in floods of tears thinking about all the opportunities I have missed with my dad passing when I was 18. Please never forget how much your dad loves you and he’ll always be with you. Rest peacefully.
I truly enjoyed this video. The time captured with your father was gold. I loved watching where you get your quick talk and wittiness from. It’s just a reminder that we need to slow down and keep our loved ones closer, because time is precious. Thank you for letting us watch the beautiful art you create.
Dying over the “s word/b word” and “have you just worked out how lighthouses work after 70 years?” conversations 😂 be nice to your dad, Stef. I have a genuine phobia of elderly people; no specific age, just people who are older and starting to “lose it” or behave oddly or ramble on with racist remarks... I maintain that this is because my grandparents have all been crazy and scary nut jobs throughout my life, which taught me to be terrified and untrusting of old people lol. But I must say, your dad is so lovely. I never thought I’d say this about any old person, but I really do just adore him. He’s blissfully optimistic and I am genuinely interested in the things he has to say because he’s so thoughtful. He’s even funny, but in a whimsical, innocent way. I just think he’s lovely and fantastic and I want all the nice things to happen to him. Actually, if he’s in the market for any adult grandkids to adopt (we’re less needy and much less work, I think) I would love to have a nice grandpa who isn’t a perv, criminal, or addict/drunk for once! It’d be splendid to hear a kind, normal person’s life stories on holidays instead of listening to drunk ramblings while fearing for your own safety! Pass along my info to him, would ya? 😂
such a beautiful video, the footage of you and your dad is always so emotive and really stirs something in me - it's so nice to be invited into such a lovely and honest relationship xx can't wait for the next one!
I watched this years ago and it’s so lovely to see him again and send all your family my love for you loss. How lucky having him in your lives he was a legend x
Awww so sweet spending your Dad's 70th with him.. Hannah using her Mom's cookbook.... I'm a senior... as my hubby says... an old dear... and you're right... seems like only yesterday, I was 40 ... but hey... I can still get down to some Motown. Gosh, y'all have just an awesome channel. Keep up the good work and always be thankful!
I love to see Steph and Grandads relationship. I lost my Dad a few years ago, and there is just nothing like the love and understanding between a father and their child. 💜
I love your Dad talking about his cowboy boots, I'm so glad he had such a great 70th birthday. It beautiful how much he appriciated your visit as he tells you goodbye!
This video is incredible!! I absolutely love the voiceovers and narrations you create each week - they add a new layer to the content that makes it feel like a short movie. Capturing the small things in life are important! xx
Stef and family, I am so sorry for your loss, especially during this time, I’ve been there it’s awful. I always loved watching the videos of when your Dad came over, he really reminded me of my Granda. He seemed a true gentleman. My thoughts are with you all and I know he was very proud of you all.
The amount of effort you put into these videos continues to amaze me. Absolutely loved this! Beautifully shot and edited, I love your voiceovers too as it makes it much more personal. The conversations with your dad are brilliant and really made me laugh; snigger and bigger 😂 It was really interesting to hear what you both had to say. Your vlogs really are more like short films and the skill you have to produce these every week is so impressive , keep doing what you’re doing ☺️
Just looking back through all the old comments on this vlog, just shows how so very special your Dad was. Instantly loveable, gentle, kind not to mention hilarious. So sorry for your loss Stef. Goes without saying you were so lucky to have had him as your Dad xx
I love that he calls you Steffy 😩😩 so cute
Your dad is so precious, he truly loves and appreciates you so much. Cherish him x
Touching video Stef. One of your best, beautifully captured. Longer shots makes for a well composed video, makes you really appreciate the moments. Quiet, pensive moments between you and your father really gave the perspective of the ‘time’ genre.
You are the only person I actively wait to watch. Well done.
It makes me sad that some older people live alone. But yet, what can you do, that’s life. I might adopt a grandad ❤️ I love your dad x
Thats such a cute comment! It made me smile 😊

This week's video is so raw and genuinely filled with emotions that I cried 😭

I struggle with this too! I think I forget that it’s not the quality of conversation we’ll both remember but rather, just that we had conversations ❤️
"When I was your age I had about ten jobs"
"Don't have to worry about the cold weather or anything, or Brexit"
"I've got a confession, I like puffins"
"The education in my day was so good, Stef"

Grandads snippets of wisdom :D
stooooop you're making me cry with all the emotive clips of grandad

Everest is taller! You’re a lucky guy to have such a smart dad. I’m less than 16 mins in. I might have to add to this. 😉
So sweet!
What an iconic father figure. I bet he is looking down at your family right now with a smile on his face. Sending lots of love to you at this sad time. xxx
Ahh your dad is so cute Stef, it makes me want to cry! He absolutely adores you x
Happy birthday to your pops! Mine is gone, and I miss him dearly. Enjoy every second you can with him. He is a lovely beautiful soul.
Bless him! You can tell how much you meant to each other!
Loved this one! One of my favorites. Your dad really loves you, it's so sweet. I love all the things you spoke about as well. I wish more people would kindly try to educate rather than just instantly hate. Hopefully things will change in the future. Thanks again, and I can't wait for the next one!
This was bloomin' beautiful. The contrast of Stef and his dad, against scenes of Rufus and Grayson playing was very moving.
This video made my heart swell. You have a beautiful relationship with your dad, he's so proud of you. Thanks for sharing.
Why do I end up crying every time Stef's dad makes a cameo?!
This vlog made me so emotional, I’ve recently lost my grandma and I miss her so much but listening and watching your dad made me feel happy again for a while :) oh and I’ve loved the reason why he won’t get a dog is because he can’t handle the poop .. Steph your dad is so precious ❤️
lovely video as always. Happy birthday to your Dad and Rufus.
your dad is the epitome of sweetness. xo
Awe......Dad's sense of fashion is spot on with his Converse sneakers!!!!! He's adorable!!!
And I remember when he used to call Grayson his little butterball 💔
“Love many, trust a few and always paddle your own canoe”
Rest well Grandad.
I loooovveeeddd the bit on the bench, the way he said he liked puffins it was the cutest thing ever!
Watching this back after the horrible news, Stef. I hope you find the strength to watch this back one day, and may these happy memories be at the forefront of your mind when you think of your dad.
He was his own charismatic storybook character. May he rest in peace ❤️
“In my next life, I want to be a swallow” And, may you think of him when you see a swallow and know he is watching down on you✨
I’m so truly sorry your you heart ache and loss.
Awesome. Thank you very much for sharing. Love you grandpa!
Your dad is the sweetest human ive ever seen ❤️❤️❤️ i hope he reads the comments
I love your dad so much! I didn’t watch the entire video before I commented...I could listen to your dad talk all day.
Ahh. He is just so precious, Stef. Can’t even imagine how much love you have for him!
This video is incredible!! I absolutely love the voiceovers and narrations you create each week - they add a new layer to the content that makes it feel like a short movie. Capturing the small things in life are important! xx
Happy birthday grandpa🎉🍻
Stef and family, I am so sorry for your loss, especially during this time, I’ve been there it’s awful. I always loved watching the videos of when your Dad came over, he really reminded me of my Granda. He seemed a true gentleman. My thoughts are with you all and I know he was very proud of you all.
I adore your dad. Such heart, such kindness .. such love for you Stef
Grandad had to be the best thing to ever happen in my life!! He brings me such happiness! 😘
I wish anyone was as happy to see me as your dad is to see you ❤️
Thanks so much for your beautiful art!!! Lots of respect for sharing your life with us!!!!! Love your fathers quote!!! Make it a print!!!!!
