It's a clever idea using the camera holder for the LUCY. I will see if that works for me. I love the tool which I got from another company. But what a miraculous invention. You can flip it 45 degrees for a sitting position.

this is a helpful demo but i'm not sure what is meant by... A MIRROR image (9:57) is he saying the object we are drawing will actually be backwards? like, when looking at a 'CoKe' can in a mirror.. we don't see 'COKE' we actually see 'EKOC' reflected back at us. if someone could comment we would be very grateful... thanks in advance.

Hi Amanda, no it is not reverse but an actual what we call a ghost image , because it is a lighter color image. It is lighter in color depending on your lighting, and paper you use. For example if you use a toned sketch paper or even a Kraft or grey tone sketch paper the image will show up darker. It is taking the image through mirrors and reflecting it to your surface. Artists Vermeer , Van Gogh , Holbein were known for using a camera Lucida for drawing figures.

I like to use traditional sculpture pieces. I hold a small plastic filter sheet . ( sometimes I put on my basic sunglasses,)as well or I have lighting on the side and it also helps with contract and perspective. It also keeps me focused to focus on the drawing , in a way keeping the image in my brain to draw it.

Using the light on the model instead of the drawing will give the effect you're looking for.

Why would you use an all-white object? Wouldn't that be the most difficult to see? How about something with contrast?

They include now a plastic sheet that filters out light and allows to show more detail with white objects. I have been using different lens sunglasses - actually cheap ones from Walmart and they work nice to practice with indoors and out.

For the price, one would think you would have wanted to use metal knobs and no plastic parts.

If you're the vendor, why are you doing an unboxing? The point of an unboxing is to discover together. What you're doing seems contrived and disengenuous - bordering on a hustle. At best, you're assuming that your customers are stupid and will ignore your absurd kabuki theater. Quite a dubious first impression.

Why can’t a vendor do an “unboxing”? I have never ever seen anything on RUclips that defines ‘the point of an unboxing’.

The following remarks are strictly my own opinion: I think this couple is justifiably trying all they can to succeed but I agree so much in this video was, at best, unprepared and unprofessional. The fact stated that they are making the clamp stand themselves in Italy for over 50 years?! Not possible in my opinion. They had to have been spinning the facts that rather they are having the product components made via an Italian metal manufacturer that itself has been making products for 50 years. I say this because if this individual/company had been in fact selling this product for that long, they would do much better than fumbling with the camera, sneezing, choosing a demo table that the product doesn't accommodate, having poor audio recording quality for the year 2020, not having an artist to do the demo, etc. And as you point out, calling it an unboxing format when it's just a product demo, without an objective impression or review is already a sign of trying to manipulate the customer. Most importantly, this Lucida itself can't be made with expensive true optical lenses required for usable contrast in drawing, based on the poor demo results, sorry to say. It was as if he couldn't see anything at all through the device. I came here hoping this Lucida might be worth trying.
