I remember an episode of Mythbusters where they made a piece an inch or less thick, it was strong enough to hold Adam several feet off the ground, even while he was jumping on it. I was honestly shocked you were able to bite into it without breaking your teeth!

congratulations rett and link, when you froze the saw dust Popsicles, you created pykrete. the substance, named after Geoffrey Pyke, is as hard, if not harder, than concrete. it is bullet proof, and was nearly used to build a top secret aircraft carrier during WW2 for the british navy. it was called Project Habbakuk. the cost of construction prevented the ship from being built, and the british would rely on more traditional methods. think about that when you bite down on a Popsicle made of saw dust.

frozen paper is stronger, Its called pykrete 2, made by the mythbusters. They made a boat out of it.
I believe they encased it in something else. It was impractical anyway, for various reasons.

little known fact, is that the reason they couldn't bite through the sawdust one is because sawdust and ice together is a composite material called pykrete, which is almost as strong as concrete, making it almost impossible to break with your teeth.
