Nah, Diamondback is still a great coaster. Arguably the best hyper in the world. The Beast didn't end The Racer's career, Orion won't end Diamondback's. Diamondback will now have shorter wait times, and will be able to be enjoyed multiple times in a visit. You'll spend a 1/3 of your visit waiting in line to ride Orion. It is a one ride per visit attraction.

I noticed it was like that on the poster that is on the wall at the construction site too. I went to guest services, and they said that was a misprint. He said the Racer will never go back to being backwards, due to it not being designed to go that way. He also said, and I heard this when Cedar Fair took over, that insurance would be too high if the ride went backwards.

My country's tallest roller coaster is a 215ft hyper coaster manufactured by Arrow in the 90's, the fact that people are genuinely disappointed in getting a B&M giga, which is one of *two* in Ohio alone, is mind boggling.

This is the perfect coaster for Kings Island and it's going to be another badass coaster to add to Kings Island coaster lineup...
I have friends who have amusement parks that haven't gotten new roller coasters in 15-20 years..
People need to be more grateful that they have such a huge selection to choose from.

Yet since this is going to Kings Island, I see people calling it mediocre and I just don't understand why.
Meanwhile the state I live in only has two hyper coasters, one is in the middle of nowhere and is pretty much stuck in an endless SBNO hiatus (it held a record though and still holds another record) and the other, while is operating just fine, is only a hyper coaster through a technicality; the ride and station is located high above the ground (has to be, it's above a busy street) and a few of the supports touch the ground. I'd say the ride would actually be 80 to 120 feet if it wasn't elevated like that. None of which are located in dedicated parks. Where I live, we definitely have enough room for a Cedar Fair and a Six Flags park bigger than their star parks (Cedar Point and Great Adventure) and land development is cheaper than most other states. Plus our population is growing significantly also there's not really any strong competition, so it would be a great move to build a new park. We still have to wait for Six Flags or Cedar Fair (or some other company) to put on their glasses to see the potential before we can even imagine a giga. Try living that down.

Either way, I would hardly call this ride pointless, nor do I think that's a fair assessment as I imagine it'll feel a lot more intense than it looks; certainly more so than Diamondback.
Besides, the general public ain't gonna care, and I'm sure the coaster will be a blast to ride regardless.

The only big park I've been to was cedar point, which is amazing but the only big coasters I had time to ride were steel vengeance and Maverick, i wanted to get the fast pass but we ended up not getting it...
Haters gonna hate - looks like a better Levi. And I love Levi despite its relative shortness. B&M rules the sky’s in Kings Mills, Vaughn, and Charlotte. The Mercedes Benz of coasters, the reliable line smashing silky smooth mega monsters. I got one can’t hardly wait for Orion!

I'd like to see a B&M launched invert, imagine that for a volcano at king's dominion replacement. And then it wouldn't be too similiar to the normal either, but then again, King's Dominion really doesn't need another "experimental" coaster like ever. My home park is six flags GADV and I don't want to see anything experimental there either with all the unreliable broken down messes so yeah.
P.S. and no vest restraints there's no reason to have them on fresh B&M's.

While it doesn’t look nearly as good as fury it looks like it will still be a pretty darn good ride. Kind of seems like a mix between Fury and Leviathan.
I can't wait to ride this so excited. But with that said I am tired of Kings Island taking the back seat to Cedar Point. If Cedar Fair would actually look at the potential of Kings Island they could add so many world record coasters there. I have been going to both these parks going on 20 years. Would have been nice to see this coaster beat out Fury325 height.

Kings Island is my home park. Before it was even announced, you could tell they were clearing way for something new. You could see it from the first hill on the Beast. A new coaster is always exciting, especially when it’s at your home park.

My home park is Six Flags St. Louis, so I can only dream of getting a ride like this anytime soon. Some Kings Island Fanboys need to understand how truly lucky they are. I mean you got an awesome invert in 2014, in my opinion the best GCI in 2017, and now this.

Well before Kings Island was owner by Cedar Fair they would install record breaking coasters regularly, but now CF doesn’t want KI to outshine Cedar Point so they purposely make new rides at KI less than their full potential. There’s nothing stopping anyone from visiting KI so it’s not only “fanboys” who are missing out. You are getting less than you deserve also.

Dylan Wynkoop if you’re disappointed with this replacing Firehawk, I’ll tell ya what you should do. Put on a vest with a lot of pockets. Grab a couple of walking sticks and take a hike.
Zach Jones why wouldn’t I be disappointed with it replacing Firehawk? Firehawk was a unique ride at KI and this is just a copy paste of Diamond back, but painted blue, and enlarged.
No Orion has a completely different layout than Diamondback. They look similar because they are both manufactured by Bollinger and Mabilard.
Firehawk left because it was a maintenance nightmare and parts for it were discontinued making it very hard to maintain.
Riding this was so fun! I loved the giant hill!

I am really excited! I saw some of the comments saying that they wished it was longer or with more added onto it, which I'm not dogging those people. I'm no rollercoaster expert lol. However, I actually just got over my fear of roller coasters and honestly, this looks awesome to me. I actually started out with Flight of Fear because my dad said that i should conquer the faster coasters and move up to the taller ones so I immediately got over my fear of coasters from the Flight of Fear.
Plus I can understand that a lot of humans have a strange need for defying gravity in any and every way possible so for some this coaster may not seem like much but its still a tall coaster that looks like it will definitely make your stomach drop.
Not sure what Kings Island makes on average and how much they have to spend on building new rides but I know that certain places can only make as good a ride as their funds allow them to, and the space provided for them to build that ride.
So ueah, I think it looks cool! I've seen so many posters up for it. My dad got Gold passes for this year but he said we'll definitely be back next year to ride the new coaster, assuming it is definitely going to open in 2020.

I live dead smack between both parks, and tell you I live at Kings Island till Sundays during Haunt, then I spend most time at Cedar Point. Best time to ride, with no lines!!! I shouldn't tell, but whatever! I take the kids and I'm the biggest one!!!!
I hope to ride this next year. This would hopefully be my 3rd giga in North America. Only been on Leviathan and Millennium Force.

Well thats underwhelming. Could care less of height meeting minimum requirements. But it's like raging bull too many side turns even on hills. And why so mAny? Barely hugs the ground or terrain at all. And they already have a hyper, it should've went for intimidator 305 and fury 325 vibes not leviathan "levalleythan" or standard hyper.
