The landing gear seems to be aluminum. I tried to attach a magnet and it would not stick so I don’t think they are steel. Both metals would block signal. Steel more than aluminum, but both would block signal. If they were hard plastic or fiberglass, it would work better but they are not. I just mounted them in the hatch. Worked out better than I thought. It is very easy to screw them onto the air unit. And the hatch can be removed and set aside while they are still attached or I can disconnect them and get the hatch as far away as I want. You are going to laugh because I will have to make another small video tomorrow. I forgot to install the lidar unit. Rofl I went to get the screws that hold the wing on and there it was laughing at me when I thought I was done. It is installed but not connected to the FC yet. It is 1:15 am so I will connect it to the FC tomorrow. Lol Its always something.
@@nighthawkvs Always something, sometimes I put so much time into a complete build that Im scared to death the fly it, lol. I have a few planes still yet to maiden due this, lol.... But your doing it right by being thorough.
So good to hear that someone else has the same fears as I do. I also have a lot of anxiety flying new builds and have several on the rack that I don't want to crash and destroy. It takes a big person to admit such to others. Thank you for the kindness.
I was going to suggest fixing them to the gear legs with isolated mounts but I think there might be problems with that, I actually really like the configuration you chose it has a robot feel about it and gives it personality that’s easy to live with, you are one of those rare practical flyers still concerned with aesthetics, I’m a purely aesthetics flyer, I don’t do FPV or anything that isn’t scale and highly detailed
I wish I was artistic enough just to paint mine. Maybe in the future I might try. I will take a picture of this from a front view. The bottom front of the Anaconda reminds me of a shark. If I had the talent I would paint it like a shark. But I have never seen a shark with ears so I would have to find a different subject. lol
I think the antennas up there will be better than under the wings as you once wanted them to be located at.

Maybe 3-D print some stand off mounts to attach antenna's to the front side of landing gear?? Dunno if the metal cause any problems?
