Im fast becoming an auto shenanigans fan. Being an expat its lovely to see some familiar places back home so do keep up the great work. Be brilliant if you could come over to Autobahnland and maybe have a go at nurburgring?
With all the troubles in the world, sometime it's worth getting a bunch of mates together and going on an epic journey where you can forget about everything and just have fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
there are so many "chalenges" you can do, just depends on how much cash you can afford to pay out for fuel, obviously, none are races, as that would be against the RTA... I have a few that I'd love to do when the vehicle in my picture is finished. ps, I used to do Norwich to Exiter in about $ hours... in a Ford Iveco truck... starting at about 2am... so fully understand the issues involved. (I'm sure you can work out the "$"...)
There was a TV programme a while back with scientist Brian Cox in a Eurofighter aircraft which took off from E Anglia at sunset then caught up with it over the west coast of Ireland. They had to go supersonic to do so!
I'm not sure how Chloe won, as at 17:56 she was heading east on the A30. You can clearly see the Cross of St. Piran painted on the rock on the east bound carriageway near Temple (50.5383, -4.5961). Just after this, you say you're on the M5 near Exeter, around 65 miles behind...but at least heading in the right direction. 😆😆
I'm guessing you know the Temple area quite well, when the Temple bypass was being upgraded to dual carriageway it was a pain driving through the area, on my way down I'd often turn off and go down by Colliford Lake to get around the queues and delays...
I’d love to give this a go in my Tesla Model S performance. I’d have to run the numbers to see if it’s even close to possible in an EV with charge stops. If you’re doing this again let me know please.
How's about John o groats to Lands End on midsummer day. 840 miles, approx 17 hours sunlight, requires AVG speed of just under 50 mph. Challenging given top third in Scotland has no motorways.
@@AutoShenanigans The problem with that is that Cornwall and the south west will be really busy with caravans and camper vans in June and you'll hit Bristol, Exeter etc at rush hour.
I can't work out if you are stalking my life or I just move jobs a lot... A previous office of mine over looked Ness Point. Me and some friends want to do a top gear race from there to Amsterdam, car/plane/train
It's us stalking. Ness point... it's not a looker is it. We're not ashamed to say we take inspiration from the good years of Top Gear. keep an eye out... we've something in the works that you might like ;)
I have to admire your music bed choice, classical music while discussing wee stops and coffee. Genius! 😂
😂 Only the best (royalty free) tunes here!
A great video Jon though I have to say that I feel Chloe was the star of the show. Well done to all who took part and beat the Sun.
The big grin as you come out of the tunnel says proper car person! 😄👍 Great channel, about 5 months in now. Keep up the good work. 👍
Car guy right here!! Thanks for watching
Absolutely great weekend, we throughly enjoyed it. Cool film Jon looking forward to future adventures.
Thanks for coming along mate!
Jon. I cant believe you've had 3k views but only 158 likes. I'm now an Auto Shenanigans fan. keep up the great work mate.
Quite an old video this!
Another epic trip - so much nicer to finish at lands end rather than Lowestoft!
Polite suggestion. Download your map on Google maps next time, then you won't have to rely so heavily on your GPS signal.
Great can't wait to see 22
I've an a3 like aidens, I liking his Christmas lights inside .

Covid and brexit has made EU travel slightly less desirable at the moment but Autobahn and Nurburgring will happen for sure!
It is amazing seeing what people used to get up to a century ago in 2021.

Great video what a way to finish the year, cannot beat a Road Trip. Have a great Christmas and all the best for 2022!
One of the OG subscribers... thanks for hanging around. Appreciate the support, have a great Christmas.
the epic race would be from lands end to john O'Groats during the winter solstice

i considered subscribing... then i did it, phew! what a relief, the tension was unbearable, now i feel so much better! 🤣😂🤣
Nobody in their right mind would use the A303....

Great adventure!
Casual Le Mans start lol
We nearly missed the start completely :D
Loved seeing the subtitles trying to cope with 'Lowestoft'!
Lower soft. Lowest often. 🤣
Trying to remember when i posted a comment on here then realising its not actually me lol

Knowing the route with no speed cameras might’ve helped I’m guessing 😉👌🏻
I see this growing next year 😉
Give it a go mate.. it's all good fun!
Excellent.....as always
Many thanks!
@@AutoShenanigans Ah, That Bridgewater Monument (A11)
@@andykilvington1651 Yeah nice in the fog actually.
Beautiful Skyline. 🇯🇵
Shes not bad for an old girl.
Hi John, am fairly new to your channel but what about Land's End to John O'Groats with no motorway within 12 hours as the next challenge?
I’m only over a year late for this. I watched west-east firstly.
Congratulations again
But are you East or West side braahhh ? 🤙🏽🤙🏽😂

It's completely possible. There is a guy on RUclips who has done it, and I think he beat the EV record. So you should check that out as well.
@@jonwelch564 legally? If so what is the times/margins? I know someone that might be interested in beating it... :-)
Used to deliver to AGM when u worked for euro car parts, there in welwyn garden city
Wow, that's a while back now!
dunno why u need annoying speed camera warnings. you can't miss them especially on the m4

We're looking into a trip very similar to that ;)

I did this in February 2016 through the night, Lands end to John o Groats
@@danielhindley8 Did you make it?
@@edwardlees4585 I did indeed.
A303 is bad as it's two lanes into one.
