The sight of poor, aged and fraile man pulling the hand cart can make any one emotional. These kind of hand held rickshaws are extensively used in Madagaskar. One can understand their life by reading Dominique Lappiers classic " City of Joy ".
This documentary was truly heart-wrenching. I was unaware of the challenges faced by the rickshaw pullers of Kolkata and the film brought these issues to light in a powerful way. The strength and determination of these individuals, despite the odds stacked against them, is truly inspiring. Thank you for shedding light on this important issue and giving a voice to the voiceless. Bravo!
5:32 lol but in Japan these days, they charge 3000 Rupees/5000 yen for ten mins ride and upto 8000 rupees for 30 mins. And tourists pay that and more. We should keep it as a tourist thing. And over there they have girl pullers so I’m guessing it’s not as intensive as it appears visually.
You have to feel shame to say this as heritage. Such practice had been declared as illegal well before 50 years in TN and replaced with cycle rickshaws
Back in the day you met nawabs on the street now you can't meet anyone anywhere life is the worst it has ever been society is at its fastest pace and at its worst
