im not for sure but i think the SL and VR4 have different gas tanks, the sending units are different as well i believe, wouldnt be much work to just try it and see tho
no you cant open the tank up, just have to use the hole that the fuel pump goes in to. Only time I have seen someone open it up they had to cut it open and the reweld it closed

update on this? how's it held up? have you checked if rust started forming again?
I have checked a couple times since I cleaned it, it doesn’t look like any new rust is forming
