Took this drive for the first time this weekend...kinda wish id seen this video first because I had crazy anxiety at the thought of driving it...but did it and now watching this video makes me nauseous all over again.
Man, I took this drive last year when I went to Colorado. And like this video, I stopped about a half-dozen times along the way to soak it all in. You just don't get incredible views like this in east Texas.
I'm from east Texas too. Last June a buddy and I went there on our motorcycles and there was still lots of snow. In fact, the night after we went over it, it had to be closed again. I have a video posted of our ride here as well.
I wish I was riding my 2002 BMW R1150R on these roads... I'm a "flatlander" from Michigan, and roads like these( & curvier ones not shown)are what I believe my bike was made for... Great video!!
You didn't stop & get out & take a photo of the Independence Pass sign at the very top, & look around at all the teeny tiny flowers in the ground up there above the tree line! :( But nice to see the road itself hasn't changed much in 36 years, it's still a 2-laner with many many hair-raising hairpin turns. For those who plan to drive it, make sure you never get stuck behind an RV all the way up & down. Misery! In the 1970s, it was closed all Winter. Not sure if they still do that. Also, plan to drive the Pacific Coast Highway someday in California, all the way up or down. It's even more hairy-scary with the vast Pacific Ocean right there along the edge of the tiny very-winding road. But it is GORGEOUS as well! Slow Down & Enjoy the Ride!
I remember camping up there with my dad when I was younger to watch the Colorado Pro Cycle Challenge cycle up and down the pass. If you ever get the chance to, I highly suggest that you camp on that pass.
Nice video.. Not a huge fan of the techno/trance music or the high speed of the video, but I absolutely love independence pass... If you can't tell from my profile picture lol. I enjoy it most myself coming out of Aspen but either way it's nothing short of breathtaking.
The last time I drove this there were yellow diamond signs on the side of the road that said "Danger: T-Rex crossing". Just kidding. I'm trying to figure out what that repetative sound is at the beginning, sounds like maybe a ball when it's first dropped on a roulette wheel. Thanks for another sweet video.
Thanks for helping me remember what a beautiful drive this is. However, why do you amateur film makers go to all the trouble to film & edit, & then totally screw up your video by posting it in super fast forward? Great video. I would have really enjoyed it in real speed. I have the brains & ability to fast forward through the uninteresting parts all on my own.
@@Librarian-fz6yr TIme lapse is fine, you can simply turn the speed up if the video is too slow, but when its sped up and you slow it down to enjoy it at normal speed, its messed up and glitchy.. I have a whole playlist of them yeah theyre great to have playing and then put my own music over them, I feel like im going somewhere!

Great drive! I can only imagine the fresh air and 3D perspective of it all!
awesome drive. I always wondered what Independence Pass looked like. Thanks!
This is a drive I *WILL* take someday. I wish I could have taken it when I was there last year! Thanks for the ride..
Awesome music and great footage!
Drove this at night. Wish I could have some it during the day but the stars were amazing

Drove this, maybe a thousand times. On a clear day...you can see forever. ~Streisand
I know one thing I have to commend you for your great driving skills dont know how you made up and over that pass without crashing. good dreving
I like the music,and I don’t mind the speed.
Very beautiful ride!!! Some passages are awesome! Thank you!
I also love that 82 terminates at I-70 in Glenwood Springs, just west of the Glenwood Canyon segment of I-70.
I like the drive a lot - went on this pass for the first time the other day. The best way to go on this pass is from Aspen over the pass!!!
Matt Medina I agree, I really enjoy the pass coming out of Aspen.
the town at the end is just perfect.
Lisa Cartwheel That's Aspen, it is gorgeous to say the very least.
i like the music !!
I bet you that uncle Rico could throw a football over them mountains!
Not if I shot it out of the sky with a freakin 12 gauge. GOSH!
@@MistyJ84 Both of you stop. 😅

Yes, they still closed this road in winter.
Makes one dizzy watching.
I legit thought he was gonna drive straight off the cliff at 5:39😯
I was just up there over Labor day weekend.
Awesome view, I turned the volume down and from spotify I listen my own chillout lounge music.
Nice drive, please slow down so we can feel the turns and the music motion.
The i70 is blocked, taking this tomorrow!
awesome
Nice one.

If you DRIVE THIS FAST you will surely perish!.. SLOW DOWN and ENJOY the SCENERY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is timelapse, dude....
how long is this road?
How long does this drive take?
It can take about a hour on a good day with little traffic.
@@craigkinstle4295 Thanks!😁
I was sent by Joey Diaz.
so was I lol powerful Joey
Knight Rider?
Every time you pulled up for the side of the road I thought you were going to fly off. Make it normal speed then it won't be so scary.
Why do you keep stopping?
Damnit, man, slow down!
True!!
to take pictures
Must not be sage no rail in some places
make it normal speed, cant even enjoy it.
You can slow down the video
Are you kidding, I literally search for time lapse drive videos!!!!!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤ I LOVE this stuff!!!!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤

Too fast to enjoy
Background music is horrible
I'm here because joe rogan
I am one of the music critics. Turned off the sound.
Much to quick! The charm is lost. What's the point?!
Turn the speed down. It's a feature of RUclips.
awful at this speed
Literally took the most unnecessary stops
that godawful noise (music?) is VERY annoying and detracts from the video
Joe rogan?
I ride a street glide and it's pretty bad if a SUV passes you. JS
TOO FAST & I DO NOT LIKE MUSIC! Sorry!
Great video! But🤢🤢🤢made me carsick.
