Great video. The Elmwood Park crew has always been the most powerful fact! Safest place to live in Chicago, 90 % Italian! They care about their Italians. Elmwood Park" Little Italy. What lovely community with such beautiful houses and trees.
I was born and raised in Elmwood park but moved in 2020 to wood dale. Elmwood park is unfortunately deteriorating from what it once was. The Italians that took good care of the community either left or passed away and immigrants and section 8 came in. A week before my husband and I moved there was a fatal shooting just a block away from our home. My friends mothers car was just stolen and my best friends car was broken into. This is not the Elmwood Park we grew up in. It's getting worse.
@@drivingdude8849 My Great Grandfather came from Germany in 1909 and raised his family in a house right near the corner of 73rd Ave & Wellington. My Grandfather and my Mom both grew up in that house. I never miss a chance to go to E.P. when I visit Illinois from Arizona!
I noticed the Lewis funeral home has been rebuilt on the circle that’s where we had services for Aunt Connie my mothers brother Uncle Ike we are of Scottish descent he was married to an Italian lady her & her people very nice they moved out of E/P in spring of 2002 to a new house in North Aurora Illinois she passed on in September of 2002 I’m sorry I’m in error moved to North Aurora Spring of 2001 when new house built they liked E/P for all the comviences but started to see some change and felt it was time to go when they lived there he had 3 vehicles Stolen a new Chevy 4x4 truck a new Olds Regency 98 And a Chevy Celebrity and when my Grandma his mother retired & came to live with them she could not believe how her car insurance doubled in cost comeing from DesPlaines Illinois the insurance companies have Elmwood Park red lined being next to Chicago LOL
It begins with driving around the village circle and on North Ave. (both directions). It ends with taking Diversey Ave. eastbound toward Chicago.
You mean Grand Ave

My family lived there from 1927 until 1989.

It would help the video if you did some narration. Tell us what we're seeing, where we're going, and their significance.
What happened to the M5 light tank that was on display on the WW2 memorial?
I love Elmwood Park. Still such a nice and quiet area. ❤❤
Yes, it is still a very nice neighborhood.
Best town in the world baby
The Elmwood Park in New Jersey has it's fair share of Italians as well!
I can imagine it. 😎
No homage to the “ tank “ ???
