I recently had a conversion to the les paul through the epiphone trad pro (as I can not yet afford a late 50s benoburst type the trad pro will do right now !
..but I got it for the amazing clean tones... I notice the tone controls on a les paul offer a variety of tones wether on other guitars the knobs never realy go with the sound and you lose rather than gain!not so with the les paul !...it holds its body and the sound Is well defined this is why xlapton could get the woman tone on his les pauls and SG (the fool guitar)...the prototype les paul had an epiphone kneck and wood as les paul worked at epiphone ...so there's heritage ther definitely and epiphone always did justice to it making all of them by hand !
