    What makes your pieces great is you care. You also do it with heart.You are a wonderfully skilled person. I've never seen anything like this! I just bought ,5 wigs and am sending them all back because all I need is a topper come to find out.Ive had the worst luck with wigs and toppers they never fit right and usually are the wrong color! You give me new hope in getting the right one! Thank you very much, Joanna

    I'm sorry your friend did not appreciate all the hard work you went to for her. I was just listening to your story for the first time today. I have been wearing hair toppers and pieces for going on 30+ years now. I am NO WAY as good at making my own as your are. That was truly amazing. The skill and time you put into that topper. I only wish I had the patience. I do hope your friend was ok and not just being unappreciative of your friendship. What an amazing person you are!!!!

    Thank you so much. Excellent video. Even though my hair texture is quite different because I am African American (I have locs or had locs) I cut off because they were so long/heavy it pulled my hair from the top. I been trying to figure out how to make a wig with my own hair. I've heard many terms. I didn't know the materials/terms needed like/wefts/lace. Still don't know how I would join the locs. Can I weft it on my sewing machine? Thx.

    You do great job love your videos. I have learned so much from you. I have been looking for videos that demonstrate how to put the backing on the toppers. How to permanently seal knots. And what is the base with p/u edging on it. How do you apply the mesh base with the p/u on edge? Sorry so many questions, but I have been watching video after video trying to find out.

  • @annebrown1402

  • @karenolvera2947
    @karenolvera2947 3 года назад

    When making a topper. There was a p/u around some mesh on back of it. What my question is….. what did that person use. Is it a monofilament backing or base. Or did that ventilate on that lace . Please can you make a full video making a topper. Adding no the backing to the base. How do you apply the p/u t the unit and seal the knot permanently. I heard you talk about it but not demonstrate it. Thank you so very much for your time. It is well appreciated from everyone.

    • @SuperWigMaker
      @SuperWigMaker  10 лет назад +1

      It was nothing but a typical non-shedding fabric that was in skin colour. It looked like the fabrics they use for wigs. The problem is that if you have a fabric under the unit you need the edges to be much thicker to conceal it... she wanted a thin front to blend with her hair but she also wanted the fabric!

    • @SuperWigMaker
      @SuperWigMaker  9 лет назад +1

      Hey this specific took em 3 weeks but I couldn't ventilate everyday and for many hours, it should be doable in like 1 week if you take the time to make it as elaborate as I did it, but you will have to work like 8 hours per day.
      It also depends on how fast you ventilate.

    I've seen them on other toppers or closures. The rubbery lining around the piece. It looks like silicone almost I was wandering if this allows the piece to stay in place.

    • @SuperWigMaker
      @SuperWigMaker  9 лет назад +1

      It does provide some grip to the unit but I think it is made so it melts better to the skin since it is like a thin transparent silicon and that it acts like a second skin, something like prosthetics!

      The Follea Gripper unit has this kind of rubber in the inside of the unit so every track literally provides resistance to slipping back. Whent hey do it in the front it is mostly done to have a super skin-looking front!

      @SuperWigMaker  9 лет назад

      You mean at these stock photos of toppers, I assume it could be like thin skin or something. It is not my topper so I can only guess, they usually do this to melt the front part better with the skin itself!

    Hi! Love your video. Can you sew the clips directly onto the ventilating fabric? I'm thinking of doing this to make extention pieces for the thinning top of my head and can't afford any bulk:)

    • @SuperWigMaker
      @SuperWigMaker  10 лет назад +1

      Yes you can, you only need to make sure that there are some sort of seams or folds to that spot otherwise the lace could be slightly more fragile and have a weak point on that spot. If you also paid attention to how I stitch the clips you see that I clip it all around thus I make sure that the clip won't be held by 4 holes as they are usually in wefted extensions, but the clips is held all around its perimeter thus more lace is going to hold it and it will be more secure to the lace itself.

    Hi, clips are damaging and can cause hair loss. Is there a way you can use an elasticated hairband underneath the topper instead of the clips or even attaching the clips to the hairband and then wearing it this way. A topper stylist once told me that a headband can be used instead of clips but I'm not sure how she did it.. do you know a hack or could you try this?

    YOU DID A GREAT JOB!!!! WHAT DO YOU CHARGE

    • @SuperWigMaker
      @SuperWigMaker  9 лет назад

      Well I mention in the video that I don't do pieces for sale (for now) and I never do wigs or toupees for other people, but this lady had a problem with her hair being too thin, she didn't even go outside because she was ashamed.
      I am moved by stories like this and she also gave me a photo of her, she is such a pretty girl with blue eyes and blond hair but her top was very thin!
      So I accepted to make it for hair free of charge as long as she provided the hair, she would only have to pay for the lace and the shipping of the thing.
      She didn't accept this, she said she wanted to pay me and she asked if 100 euros were good enough. I accepted because I didn't mind getting paid as well, I would do it for free but she offered money so I accepted it.
      For now I don't do things for sale cause of my limited time, in the future I do plan to work for some things but I have to wait the new year to see how things will go!

      Or amazon could be another good source. You can't have guarantee a good quality of hair though, Asian sellers are never trust worthy!

      Since I have no experience with virgin hair where to buy it, I would try amazing hair store.
      They seem to have virgin semi-double drawn hair, in the pictures it seems good and the site is legit. The prices for the bundles also are not that bad.
      But I would also try ebay search for unprocessed hair, virgin raw, or 6a quality or 5a quality!
      This is the amazing hair store link to their virgin hair

      same way, if I need to bleach it, I first bleach it, then heat tighten it and then I use a permanent sealer to keep it like this because human hair revert back to loose knot in humidity or if it gets wet.
