  • Atomic Heart is a First Person Shooter (FPS) video game set in an alternate reality in which Russia won the war due to its massive technological breakthroughs and now stands as the world's leading super power. Everything in this world is built around robotics and artificial intelligence so when the system is corrupt by an unknown external force the formerly helpful robots turn on their masters as they are locked into combat mode and see humans as the enemy.
Murley and Cole decided to dive deep into discussion around why this game didn't quite land after many years of hype and marketing. They focus on the main issues they have had with the game, including: One of the worst protagonists to ever be forced upon players, poor guidance/waypointing, outdated mission structure (fetch quests, backtracking, unrewarding objectives), as well as a less than spectacular inventory system and combat that at times feels half-baked.
We generally avoid reviewing games before completing the whole story but Murley decided to present his review score for the game after 12 hours of play time and believing himself to have already seen the best the game has to offer.
