Amazing how this city of blue collar workers, Philadelphia, gives a wonderful New Years gift to country on January 1st. To say that should put everyone in a positive place for the New Year. This gift from Philadelphia/ local neighborhood people, is truly a great example of how beautiful and remarkable this City is. Happy New Year to everyone involved in this parade. Hopefully this tradition goes on and on for many years to come. A excellent example of City of Brotherly Love 💜
PHL isn't the blue collar city it used to be. First many of their kind of jobs left...starting in the 70s. Then a lot of them moved to the burbs in DelCo or Bucks Co. Yes, some of these people live in the city but most of them no longer do. Housing in PHL is becoming unaffordable like everywhere. So the " working class" name for Philadelphia is no longer accurate. Luckily the people involved mummering keep old sentiments alive. ❤
