Something must have happened in 2013 because that is the exact year I started to publish my navigational videos, only in my native language Croatian. In 2021 and quarantine I started with English videos and now that I found your channel I am thinking to record or just guide students to your videos..... We don't use decimal point and comma the same way you do, also the markings are different.

Thanks for watching and the good wishes! The CPA bearing will be the true compass direction of the contact at the moment of CPA. So providing no one changes course or speed, when you are closest to each other (in real life), the true bearing from you to him will be 031. Hope that helps!

Nice refresher. I was an OS in the Navy and did this often; however, seeing as how if you're not doing them in the civvy side unless you're a masochist to stay frosty, you forget things. This brought it back quickly. Thanks for that.

This was really helpful! My instructor sped through it and I'm happy to be able to pause and go back as I need with this.

Question Sir: at aprox 3:24 in the vid., CPA Brg. is given as Zero-Three-One. Is 031 the Brg. at the moment of CPA...or is Zero-Three-One a relative Brg. from the ship at the cntr. of board before CPA?

Yes, sorry...this is an old video that I reposted for some friends that found some interest on RUclips. I'll be doing better quality versions this spring, for all the maneuvering board videos. Please let me know if there is a topic that particularly interests you and I'll see what we can do!

I am sorry but the further you get in to the video, the more blurry it becomes. At 7:05, I can not even see the board. You talk as if you were talking to yourself.
