Important update. The policy formation and execution explains the possibility of solving a major urban necessity. It should be adopted by other state governments after studying the success of the policy. The regular cleaning of water pipelines and stopping 100% sewerage contamination into the potable water (apart from other leakages), would be a deciding factor in future of such water policies.
Where bureaucracy is free to do the job they are entitled to, without having to worry about pleasing the MLA and Mps, they will do wonder. Thanks to Odisha govt.
Ground reality is totally different I can say as I belong to Odisha....Yeah, We can say that our government try to mitigate the water crisis in urban area, but the thing is there is lots of water wastage due to water pipe leakage 😢 1.People unaware about importance of water 2. Poor infrastructure development in urban area 3. Lack of awareness about use of Water
For this, we say one aspect of the matter. Just like the electricity board you have not shown data, how much water is consumed by consumers both domestic and commercial units and how much you charge. Positive things is you have to press on a clean drinking water mission.
It's not only in Bhubaneswar, I went to my village in Bhadrak, people came home and gave the connection and put a meter as well..I was so happy to see this.. But it is not drinking water yet.. But they informed that it will come soon
Free access to clean drinking water should be a human right globally in the UN Charter of human rights !!! "Privatizing" drinking water sources for the benefit of private companies should be forbidden by law!
