      @@Bellabombay mixed culture of two species chlorophyceae, for pigments exploration. I hope your research going well.. and you always healthy, Sist. As we know.. working with microalgae, it's time and energy consuming tough😅😆 you start 7am, you will back to home above 8pm 😆 oh.. may i know what are your goal from your research?

      It is very time consuming!! Much different from other organisms! My goal is to understand how they uptake and process chemicals with this project.

    idk who you are, but im proud of you lol. how long was the PhD program in total? i'm trying to decide if i should do a master's or a doctorate program

      Thank you!! My program estimates 5-6 years, the masters would have been 2 1/2. It varies from school to school.

      It’s definitely a commitment! And most science programs can offer some type of aid since there’s so many teaching labs that need TAs, not to mention all these major companies sponsoring you!

    What do your gpa have to be for PhD acceptance? I’m currently getting my masters in biology 🧪 now

      Generally a 3.0 but I didn’t have a 3.0! I’m sure you wouldn’t have a problem with already having a masters.

      Thanks! I was filming on my phone and I just didn’t want to keep grabbing my phone with them so I just used ethanol throughout. And that’s just normal contamination like you would get from leaving dishes in the sink!

      I am allowed but it didn’t work for me! I needed to be able to draw things, but in that case the iPads have sketch now so that would be allowed.

    what was your stats in acceptance?

      I actually didn’t even have a 3.0 and I had an average GRE score. What really mattered was the connections I made.

      Most schools now don’t rely so much on GRE, so focus on connections/recommendation letters, and coursework & GPA. And always apply as early as you can, don’t wait until after the holidays.

      I work with algae so it’s basically like working outside anyway, my lab is only safety level 1, so nothing toxic. I wear them when I work with HCL or something like that or doing molecular work.

      Thank you! What kind of lab do you work in? And a lot of wet lab scientists actually don’t wear gloves. It’s just not necessary all the time.
