It's tough when the Scarab torches the pillars protecting the base, leaving it vulnerable for a quick takedown. Not to mention, enemy troops deployed in the area end up flanking and attacking the base as well.
As long as two people communicate effectively, I would say yes. For missions that share similarities to this one, it's easier to coordinate if one person focuses on attacking, while another has their attention on base building and defense.
Can't say for sure, unless it correlates with the speed the Scarab's head swivels while most of the power nodes remain active. Or if you have units wandering into the beam's line of sight often enough to provoke the Scarab. Hard to say, I haven't tested this thoroughly to determine whether it's time-based or not.

I dont get why some times the scarap will attack my base in 30 min but other times attack me in less than 15 min
