I really have an appreciation for those folks in our military carrying those heavy packs and from what I understand they love this particular pack too.
Dan This is Mark. I find your post Awesome. I also think this J79 to be a pack that any survialist would love to have. It is on my list now thanks to your informative review. The thought into this bag at the R&D level is outstanding, two packs in one. Thanks Dan...
Absolutely...this is so modular, we believe anyone can make it work in any configuration you might want to make of it. Let me know if you have any questions. I have 3 different ones of the Eberlestock, and have put them through a ton of different gear set ups.- Craig
Sorry, I usually do not share price because we are always running deals and such. Check out the Dan's Depot website for a current listing...You will love this pack.
I have not used any of the Mystery Ranch packs...yet...:). HOwever I did put this pack one 6'3" fella and another that was only 5'. Because you can bend the aluminum stays in the pack and the belt and shoulder straps can be sized to fit various torsos...I do not think you will have any trouble with it.
hey Dan, thanks for the awesome review! :) I got my first survival pack stolen about a month ago (in a Maxpedition Vulture II, no less) and I'm looking for a new pack to replace it with. I guess I found it! :) Keep posting more survival tips! :)
My friend Kyle uses this for his airsoft games, so that he can carry all of his monster energy drinks and some drywall panels to punch when he needs to
Is there a way to get that outter part of the skycane if you already have the G1 Little Brother? Great Review by the way! This pack looks awesome! ~ Gerald
You didn't mention the pass-throughs on both the main pack and the Little Brother for attaching a rifle scabbard. I thought those were a pretty cool feature of the pack.
DansDepot Yeah...I love the versatility of this pack. I also have the duffel bag that zips in place of the Little Brother. This pack will carry more than I can lift onto my back!!!!
hi there i was wondering if you have used mystery ranch backbacks sucks as the longbow crew cab metcalf or kifaru packs and how they compare to the skycrane 2 i have a 19.5 inch torso and am 6 foot 4 in what do u think about fucntional load lifters on these packs for a longer torso guy? thanks

The knife on the pack is a tactical tanto made by Blind Horse Knives, which is no longer in business.
Looks cool, but I tried to go to your site to look at it and I can get to your main website but whenever I try to click on something it won't load.
