Hi to the Golden Colorado train museum . It's been many years since I visited the museum and enjoyed it. I'm happy to see it again, even if it's in only a video. My uncle was one of the founding members and loved being a part of its development. Just wanted to share.
I was there today To see the 43 foot gold spike on display. The Burlington steam locomotive 5629 is there. We found out the location of 5631 is in Wyoming. 5633 is in the Railroad Park in Douglas Wyoming! Fyi!
Nice vid - thx. We were there last fall (a year ago) right when things were starting to open up and really enjoyed it. You folks have a ton of interesting stuff, (absolutely love the tunnel motor, but there really is something for everybody.)
I went two winters ago during covid and although I didn’t get to get into a lot of the motive power and equipment I had the entire place all to myself and highly regret not taking pictures makes no sense why I didn’t. Maybe this winter I’ll make another trip to Colorado and visit again. When I was there I caught them working on the steam locos in the roundhouse shop. The variety there was awesome to see, and driving out you take a right and there’s the massive coors light plant that you can catch great footage of it being switched in and out. As well as the narrow gauge line just up in the mountains. Stayed in black hawk and the remains of the line that winded through to black hawk and it’s abandoned tunnels was cool to see. My top dream train trip is the Durango and silverton during heavy snow wintertime. And I’ll be going and riding the Alaska excursion train next year super excited
It's a fabulous museum. I was there last summer. If you go, make it a point to also go to Denver (only about a 40-45 minute drive) to see the Forney Transportation Museum. Lots of cool stuff to see there including a Big Boy, automobiles, motorcycles, and more. An hour north of there in Greeley, CO is the Model Railroad Museum. Also worth the drive. Thanks for an informative video.

Great to see the D&RGW preserved. May never happen but it would be great to see some of them run again.
