Also this gun is a remake of an older model and lacks the modern features that the modern sig p226 has. But I think the reason why this gun is so expensive is because it came out only a couple months ago and guns in general are expensive these days.

The original German made 226 are on gun broker for 550 - 750. Why is a USA remake, non hand fit, with MIM parts, more than the original.
