Wow, your adventure sounds awesome! 🚴♂️ Any favorite spot that really stood out to you? Maybe a hidden gem or a cozy café that made the journey extra special?
By bits do you mean other cities/areas? If so, you could be right. I’m sure in the future I’ll be able to explore more of Slovenia. For this campaign through Europe, however, I mostly focused on a country's capital city. Ljubljana wasn’t for me, but the Bled area was great.
you seem to have a good idea of what the best parts of our country is - the nature and hiking trails. next time youre here you should focus more on cross country cycling/motoring or going to the resorts and spas that are all over the place.
Yeah, as a first-time visitor to Slovenia, I didn’t know what to expect. But ultimately, found myself enjoying nature and the hiking opportunities very much. On my next visit, I now know where to focus my time and energy the most, and I’m looking forward to it. Thanks for dropping by and leaving a comment. Cheers!
I wouldn’t call it a bad review on the country as a whole. I just didn’t vibe well with Ljubljana. Bled was amazing and I would go back to Slovenia for sure to explore other areas that resemble Bled. What places do you recommend that feel similar to Bled?
If you are looking for a massive party fest, than Ljubljana is probably not the place to go. If you are here for the nature, good food, wine, a lot of history etc than Slovenia is a must go. BTW Ljubljana is the green capital of Europe. So yeah if nature is not your thing avoid it. I recommend visiting: Piran, and Salt fields of Secovlje, Soča valley for rafting, kayaking, nature walks and seeing our pride and joy Soca river the emerald queen. Bohinj lake which is in my opinion better than Bled, Postojna or Skocjanske Jame cave which are the most beautiful caves in the world, Prekmurje Region for the best food and spas. UNESCO town of Idrija where quicksilver mine is. There are about 500 castles in Slovenia. If you are a fan you can visit: Castle Snežnik, Predjama Castle (a castle in the cave i shit you not)... every town has a castle. Celje Castle is OK but far from the prettiest. It does have cool summer festivals in it though. In any case Roger left 90% of the cool stuff about the country out. Maybe he was too bummed out about partying in Ljubljana he just didn't bother anymore. And Roger. In the Summer if you want to go party go to Island of Pag Croatia to Zrće Beach, there is where all of they young Slovenians will be anyway. I think that will be more your vibe.

For sure. That’s a solid list. I’ll do some research on those areas for the future.
Damn you butchered those names 😂, but I got it it is a difficult language.
