    This was my rig.
Yes I drove all the way from California.
I am kind of picky and wanted a good job as I plan to keep this Motorhome for a long time.
Once the roofs leak for awhile they are basically junk.
For once I did not go the cheap route or DIY.
For some reason, I kind of trusted Joe.
When I got to his place it was exactly as I had envisioned. Nothing fancy no hype, just down to business.
Well, Joe did a great job. He did everything he promised to do and the craftsmanship was nothing short of excellent. Joe and his wife Kim were easy to do business with and nice people to boot!
1 year later, I am still so happy and know I made the right decision.
Now we live in the rig full time and we will never have to worry about a leaky roof again.
I don’t think you can go wrong bringing your rig to Joe.
    Thanks Joe and Kim.

    Joe,
Y’all do nice work. It’s the attention to detail that stands out.
You’ve mentioned your videos are not DIY tutorials but! You have inspired me. I am replacing my rubber roof with TPO, curbs and all. I’m confident the end product will be much better than the roll on stuff on the market. Just want to say Thank you.
    Roll Tide!

You can tell the care and attention that goes into everything, I fear that is so hard to find nowadays.

Frank from Canada here. Well Joe like you said these are not diy videos but they are very informative. Because of you and watching countless hours of your videos I tackled my own roof and it turned out great!
I emailed you back a couple of years ago and you responded ! You are very kind for doing that and letting me know some of your techniques. I couldn’t go with a TPO roof but i went with a 60 mil EDPM. The M77 sealant is a wonderful product. Thanks for taking the time to make these videos. By far, your approach and methods are the only way to go when it comes to RV roofs. You should really make a franchise ....

Glad to know you got an education. I would like to franchise but the real problem is not really the roof installation, it's the repairs, re-enginering and rebuilds that are difficult from coach to coach. That said, I would hate to see a customer looking for a quality roof when the underlying problems are not addressed properly. We have built an awesome reputation for roof systems and if a franchise couldn't deliver too quality long term repairs and rebuilds I feel the customer was not done right. Because the only way to fix the problem's that would rear up is to tear the the roof up again. That is a tremendous expense to do twice.
EPDM rubber is a fickle animal, so keep your eye on it. It will oxidize and chalk causing sealants to release. I have 3 decades of roof systems under my belt and all those years I never installed 1 roll of rubber. We were always called out to repair them and I have learned EPDM is not a long term roof. I call them starter roofs. Many architects apex the EPDM to get the project in budget, but it fails way before it's time due to detail issues.
      Thanks for watching.

@@RVROOFINSTALL I literally just purchased a 1999 Fleetwood Tioga and will be looking to put a new roof on it once the Spring rolls around. I'm fascinated by your process, especially how you raise and flash roof vents, AC Units and the like. My Tioga did have a serious leak around the skylight and will need the cab-over bunk rebuilt. Can you recommend one of your videos that goes into depth about how you raise and flash the roof as well as the products you use. Thanks. An Avid Fab

@@RVROOFINSTALL I was just watching your roof replacement on the Damara Safari. I am intrigued by your heat welding process on the vent curbs. I know you custom design and fabricate all the flanges etc. But what are they actually made of? I am assuming it has to be a specific material to bond correctly with the TPO. Also, is there a minimum thickness of the TPO to actually perform the heat welding?

@@RVROOFINSTALL Sorry for the continued replies, and I know you are NOT a DIY channel. But I am really interested in your curb building process. I saw on the Damara Safari build that you've basically built a wooden box above the vent opening. and then flashed it in. I noticed that you didn't fold the roof membrane into the vent opening, but rather just cut it square. Is this typical and if so, what is the reasoning? Thanks,

I love the craftsmanship and ingenuity you show with your videos I know you aren’t a DYI channel and I would never tear off my roof lol. However I’ve learned a lot for routine maintenance and what to look for. I even found and purchased the insert trim you use and wow it’s worth it but expensive.
I’m wondering if you wouldn’t mind answering a question. I know you use chemlink products and that requires a primer but their website is a little confusing.
What product do you use around Windows and what do you use where the roof membrane meets the gutter?
Like I said I do this anyway with every camper. I’m the fixing the soft flooor guy and sealing potential leaks but you’ve taught me something new about caulk and I’d like to do it right. I recently purchased a beer travers trailer and sold my toy hauler. I’d like to get off to a good start.
As I said before I’m already on ladders and the roof regardless of your answer so I’m not asking for ways to fix anything. I’m just asking what you use so I’m not buying any more silicone.
Much appreciated. Even though your videos make me look at my RV in a different light I enjoy them very much and I hope to see you at some point and time because even with the newer unit I just don’t trust it.

Amazing work as always! The best pro tip I've taken from this channel is to never use Dicor. And Dicor is something that parts departments in RV dealerships seem to go out of their way to promote.

    • @RVROOFINSTALL
      @RVROOFINSTALL  3 года назад +2

Dicor rubber is made by Carlisle Syntec. Carlisle make a commercial grade lap sealant but Dicor doesn't be use it because they are too cheap. You should be able to find the Carlisle lap sealant at your local commercial supply house. But I will say I am not a fan of rubber roofs. Heat welding a roof together nis by far better than a rubber roof.

We don't walk away....the customer decides when. Once we get it repaired and roofed, better than factory, it's all set for many years to come. If they opt to buy another then they'll be through our shop. No shortage of crappy campers out there.
