Hello again, Mike! I needed that upper protective technique that day I ran into the bucket hanging off of a bucket truck. The metal tip on my cane tapped away and I could tell there was a large vehicle to my right. The echoes off of the cane tip were working for me. But there was no way I could have known that a bucket was hanging off of the rear of its huge truck. A lot of bucket trucks have a bucket that hangs off of the rear of the truck, as in when it's parked.... I found that bucket with my face, hahaha, kablam!! I was more embarrassed than hurt. Little did I know that 12 years later, I'd meet the man of my dreams, my husband of 17 years now, and for his career as our county's best tree surgeon, he drives home a bucket truck every day. I guess I should have seen that coming, eh? LOL!! Thanks for another great video!

Today was my first time seeing your videos. Thank you! I'm an O&M instructor, and since we've gone virtual because of the pandemic, I am using videos like this more often.

I have been using the upper protective more often now because I have had cataracts in both of my eyes that has been interfering with my very low vision,I also use a white cane but I am scared and not confident going outside by myself due to the thick hazy fog and severe blurriness

You should do a video on how to detect above waist height objects when walking down the street where a cane can't touch for obvious reasons.

We use the upper tecnique in a different way. Our palm in front of our face.

Because we need the students not to hurt their fingers... They need them to read Braille.
