Not gonna buy this machine. The clearly blatant and offending "except for the red bit there, it's red" is just way too much red. It is overpowering the noir of the machine. OK I am lying, my god what a gorgeous machine.

Hi Kev! How would you say the Sage/Breville Touch machines tend to age? Do they stay as responsive as when they are new, years down the road or do they slow down a bit and get sort of laggy like most smartphones tend to do even without software updates? I've been waiting to invest in a Sage Oracle Touch for a few months now, but I'm waiting for the best deals (which historically have been during january sales recent years in my area) to go live. I was set on the Oracle Touch, until I found out the Touch Impress had been released recently. I'm a bit reluctant in going for the Oracle Touch now since it's a product with 5+ years on the neck compared to the Touch Impress. But at the same pricepoint, is there any actual advantage with the Touch Impress over the Oracle Touch? Is the Touch Impress faster in a noticaeble way or is the Oracle Touch still the undisputed better machine even after five years?
@@Coffee_Kev yeah I’m still trying to justify the jump the dual boiler only had the barista express 4 months the rabbit hole is deep 😂 worth getting second hand?

Yeah, I rate used DBs as a great option, my home machine is one I bought used, I actually got two very beat up used DBs and had them reconditioned, I have one standard and one with the slayer mod, in my opinion they're a great option used as long as you're handy or know someone who is, and especially if you can get one that has been used in a soft water area.
@@Coffee_Kev thanks for the advise mate yeah I’m happy to do mods and be handy I want to do slayer mod with one but the brand new price tag is so high compared to used and the fact that there’s such a large community for help and modding info
That's a stunning stealth machine, but I agree, I would alson get the best deal colour. I think the Breville/Sage machines look so much better than all the clone E61 machines not saying yhey all look alike but they wouldn't be out of place in a twins convention.
Yeah there are actually some really good deals at the moment for the Oracle Touch, so when you compare the RRP of this vs the current deal prices, it's a lot to pay for the colour. Yeah I really like the look of the Sage machines, not everyone does of course and some people love that stainless steel E61 look, the great thing is that there's plenty of choice out there. Re the E61 machines, have you seen the San Remo Cube? That's an E61 HX machine that breaks the mould! Will be reviewing it soon.
@Coffee_Kev Yeah, the Sanremo Cube is a lovely looking machine for an E61 and not too expensive considering the build quality, but it is only a heat exchanger rather than dual boiler. I'm looking forward to the review, especially the heat up time, as I can make my latte and toast and have eaten my breakfast before the E61's have even warmed up wasting valuable energy in the process. It is old tech, but so many coffee lovers are obsessed with the things, and E61 needs a lot of maintenance too cleaning and lubricating the group head.

I don't think they'll be working on a successor, as such. They tend to look at parts of the market that their current range isn't addressing and create machines for that market, rather than making new versions of existing machines. For example the Barista Pro wasn't a new version of the express, it was aimed at a slightly different user, same with the touch impress Vs touch, express impress Vs express. I can imagine they're working on new machines at the premium end of things to address any market they've identified that they could deliver the perfect machine for.
These automatic translations of the video title are way off on your videos, you should deactivate them. It translated "Sage" to the German word for "wise"

I think the differant warm up times with the two pumps is an important one. Being able to brew in seconds is miles more convenient at 5am pre commute👍
From start to finish making a latte for my wife and I takes 5 minutes while a dual broiler you'll be waiting.

The slayer mod is really easy to do, says the espresso engineer, who did it for me, cos I'm useless 😆

This machine is a beast but if it came in red it would be even better. I love red espresso machines for a reason 🙂

I agree, I managed to get one of the last Barista Express models in cranberry red about a year after Breville stopped production of the color .
