I love her 😍 I’m so in Awe of her class and her legacy is breathtaking. I love her and her sister Phylicia Rashad . They are beautiful inside and out. I pray to reflect that one day.

I saw a profound change in the show in the second season and stayed with it 'til it went of the air. I really didn't pay attention to the fact that Debbie Allen was the "change for the better" that kept that show relevant and interesting. Thank you so much Mz Allen and the best to you and yours. Debbie Allen is beyond words!!!
Her mom was so right. She put into words what I was trying to explain to my teenage sons why I will not accept twists, piercings and tattoos. They want to go to college for engineering and computers and I was trying to explain to them how that was counter to what they said they want to do.

Strong, beautiful in her body inspirational to ALL who feel less than , who teaches through her living to be yourself, TOTALLY yourself , and to be excellence, and walk through the fear. I watched the documentary of her dance school and she works so hard and is so loving but hard because she wants everyone to be their best.

You missed the point of this interview. We are human, but when we go into the world, they see our color before our humanity. Death, exploitation, over sexualization, economic oppression, and much more have been legal and socially accepted for a long time. For us, our identity which education nourishes (especially at a HBCU), humanizes, and prepares us to survive, strive, and thrive in a world that targets us on every level.
