  • What makes for a life worth living? And how do you decide on an answer? David Brooks asked those questions in his best-selling book The Second Mountain. At Yale University, professor Miroslav Volf pioneered one of the most popular courses on campus to wrestle with those questions.
Country Club Christian Church hosts Brooks and Volf in a virtual presentation on that very topic. As we begin a new year and think about becoming better people, we invite you to join the conversation.

Two vital public intellectuals speaking about existential issues and laying themselves bare...and almost no reaction on the internet? this is a fantastic video. But it may be that the Christian language is off putting to many. I speak as a Christian living in Berkeley who runs into this all the time. Too bad! We're privileged to hear from Brooks and Vulf. they are normalizing questions about living that are simply off the table--don't exist--for the majority of folks. oh, Brook's Judaic heritage needs to be more recognized it seems to me in this Christian based seminar. Again, I speak as a Christian! But I worship with Monks at a monastery who are wide open to all faiths.

I cannot that believe, all of you adult you college graduates, ignore the only tangible god, known of real substance
A man and woman, is this not a form god, creating living beings? New electrical consciousness.
This god undeniable, immeasurable, all powerful.
When you are born, does not your mother and father have absolute power over you?
Creation is long long long from complete.
I still can't believe it, millions of years of evolution and god is right there in front of us the whole time!

What your all speaking of is when the god of flesh and blood creates a new human being.
No mother or father wants have to watch their child life, be diminished by others, watch them have live without any hope of a life more than poverty, or being told the correct things in science and about god, the real gods failings, as a parent, who just mindlessly brings them to life in an overpopulated, over resourced world, with 7.8 billion others in front of them.
Short term hardship builds character but I can't go on forever, if it does it becomes depression.
If you truly believe god is an old white man with a beard , or there is no god at all.
All of you need take out your collegent degree certificates, in theology and science, look at it, and say to yourselves, instutional educational brainwashing.
God, is, us!!!!!!! All of us over time.
Provable beyond a shadow of doubt!!!!!!!
