Lots of folks nowadays use “love” to refer to infatuation. They use it for what it actually is too but not as much.
The Greeks were wiser than us. They had many words to represent different kinds of love. We just exclaim love and expect the context to illustrate the kind of love to which we are referring. Bad idea. Our love of God is different than our love of spouse is different than our love of children is different than our love of neighbors. Who is your neighbor? Every human, actually every living thing, is too be loved as God's creation and be respected and loved. That doesn't mean we worship His creation. It's means we treat His creation with the love and care He would expect. That doesn't mean we don't hunt deer, don't dig coal from the ground and use it, doesn't mean we stop driving cars, or anything. We are merely good stewards and we're doing that. Others may disagree so let's talk! Oh, wait, that's not allowed anymore. We must conform. Sorry, not me brothers and sisters!

My Dad was incorporated into the military in 1959. He was raised in the Cookson Hills along the Illinois River amongst poor whites and Cherokee Indians. He had never seen a black man before. He told me he spent seven days in a fox hole with a black man. They shared the same bed role and mess kit. At the end of that seven days he said they would fight together, bleed together, pray together, and die together. They were Brothers! Dad's not with us anymore but that is one of the things he told me that always sticks with me. Always thought it was well said

I know you don't personally read these Phil, but after seeing this happened to you my Husband and I prayed for you and your family. We know as Christians if we are being effective in furthering God's kingdom we will be under very serious attack by the enemy, the people he can send our way and just ignorance. If you face no friction speaking the gospel then there is something wrong. Jesus said it befell him first and so should it happen to us if we follow him. I am grateful that God has used your family and yourself as he has. You are a incredible encouragement to me personally and a very strong example. I have followed all you guys do for a long time and nothing about y'all is race related. Most color blind people that love all! Furthermore if anything I know you have changed the minds of a great many ignorant racist folks by bringing them to the love of Christ! You Robertson's have done so much in that way and even spent so much time in African countries, raised and donate much money to help there and helped personally so much in your own community. Y'all help all whoever asks or any you see in need not willing to ask because that's what the Lord tells us to do. Loving each other comes back to center of almost all of your messages because that IS the center of the gospel. God bless you Phil and all those working around you in what you do. I pray for your safety and that many more hear God's word through you and your amazing family. My family may not get to come on down a few miles and get to thank you in person for your lasting influence on us or enjoy a few moments of fellowship with y'all but I know we'll all meet up in heaven one day and cut some ducks!
