Hey Abso, I know everybody probably has their own interpretation for the lyrics and video, but what is it about for you? Is it to be taken literally or is there more meaning to it for you?
First answer to this within the context of NITESHIFT: This is a capture of an echo of a literal occurrence taking place in an alternate dimension overlaid on top of our world. From that standpoint what you see and hear is really presented as-is… everything we know about it is in the song and video.
Second answer is some personal feelings I have as they relate to my own life: I’ve often gotten really focused on something like the painter is with her frustrated exploration of the spiral. Life has a way of sneaking up on you when you aren’t paying attention, and those small things you’re ignoring can suddenly become the largest thing you have to deal with. I also really resonate with the confusion of not knowing which way to turn, or what is the right door to go through. And then with the relationship to the song, I think about how life is a one way trip, and how powerfully moving forward into the unknown frontiers of your life often requires willfully leaving things you once had behind forever.

I have to be honest, I didn't quite get it at first, but after a few times and a bit of reading the comments and especially your response, just taking my time with it, I understand and appreciate it. For me the song is very meaningful in a personal way, speaking of the struggle to give up on things you actually want to let go but can't, as they keep following you wherever you go.
