Gatorland in Orlando, FL is a theme park and a wildlife preserve. As the name suggests, Gatorland features thousands of gators (alligators and crocodiles). Apart from attractions like zip lines, railroads, alligator shows, etc. Gatorland is also home to countless egrets, herons, and many more birds that breed here in the breeding marsh and all that activity can be witnessed from the boardwalk.
When we visited in the second week of March 2024, many egrets, herons and wood storks just started nesting and we had a chance to see few early Great Egret nestlings.
This place is also an amazing place to view birds like White Ibis, Wood storks, Spoonbills, Anhingas, grackles, gallinules, .....
Gatorland was the only place where we saw huge numbers of White Ibis in one spot during our nature trip to Orlando, Florida.
There's a Swamp walk where the visitors can walk on the boardwalk to experience this mesmerizing place.
