    My '17 did the same thing. I tried a few suggestions that I read about here. None of them worked. I purchased a new screen digitizer from ebay for under $100 and replaced it myself. Problem solved, no more glitchy screen frustrating me to no end.

    My Chevy Silverado has this problem. Tried other's remedies found online (re-seating the blue connectors, etc.) but only solution that worked was re-starting the truck. I have also read those folks who replaced the display unit ended up having same problem sometime later. It gets worse when my AC is on for some reason (15~20 min. later) which makes me think there is some sort of torsion issue with the screen. It drives me nuts!!!

    I had the same problem with my 2018 Tahoe. Sometimes the touch screen worked fine then sometimes it would act like you described and worse. This is what I did to "solve" or at least stop it from happening. I have a touch button ignition. What I do is when I first enter the vehicle I wait for the logo that shows on the touch screen to disappear then push the ignition button to "On" without touching the brake pedal. This allows the vehicle to turn on without starting the vehicle. Then I once again wait for the logo that shows on the touch screen to disappear and then I simply start my vehicle. My touch screen acts "normal" again. It's worked for me every time and it has allowed me to cancel my new $850 (plus $300 to install it) touch screen that I ordered from the dealership. I hope this helps any and everyone who has had issues with these touch screens that I believe should have been recalled.

    I have a 2017 silverado, my radio was changing on its own, gps all over. Did the blue wire reconnect. Cleaned my screen with computer wipes( endust wipes). Have driven about 600 miles no problem. The wipes solved my problem. I try to use the buttons and keep my oily fingers off screen. Easy fix.

      technology is a blessing and a curse. this time a curse. Did try complete re-seating of the connectors in back of the dash, as well as re-calibrate the screen. Looking like the option now is a $975 replacement. :-( however in todays situation it will be lucky to even find a replacement with the supply chain especially with electronics being the way it is.

      The fix from our local dealer was to replace the head /unit. when i did it was approximately $700 (was not impressed) They tried to re-seat the connectors which did not fix it. Also tried re-calibration. ultimately replacement fixed this issue.

Overheating issue, (maybe put a FAN inside the dash, to keep the AMP / Radio cool. or a clean the screen more often, or use screen protector, or , reading the other comments, maybe a touch screen replacement. or replace the radio... just some ideas, im going to try. (and ill try to update here. with findings.) if my memory dont fail me... LOL.

    *****UPDATE*****
    After trying every possible remedy I have found online which didn't resolve my ghost touch issue, I tried to locate where the spot(s) were by monitoring how Google Map was 'shifting'. Mine were at (appears to be) center of left (mostly) & right edge of the screen. Since I suspected some sort of screen torsion taking place (only happens when I turn my AC on after 10-15 minutes of driving later), I removed 6 torx screws that fasten around the LCD to the bracket hoping to ease any possible tension(s) during heat cycle taking place (parked in hot summer day and driving with AC on). Put it back (WITHOUT those 6 screws), problem came right back on next driving cycle. Two days later, I have noticed that very faint flickering on LCD that simply went away next day. I also observed that my ghost touch never came back since! It's been over a month and my screen still operates as it should (crossing my fingers). 2018 Silverado LT with 44K miles.

    • @asianfire72
      @asianfire72 Год назад +1

      So you have to take the trim off first around the screen, right? Is that the area you are talking about?

    • @michaelshin4111
      @michaelshin4111 Год назад +1

      @@asianfire72 if you search RUclips on 'How to replace touch screen on Silverado' you will have better idea what I am talking about. LCD (or touch screen) is held in place by a backplate and the backplate is held by like 12 screws to the center console. I removed side, top, and bottom screws that might cause possible torsion to the LCD but left enough screws in place which still will securely hold the backplate to the console itself (nothing felt loose). All though I didn't get the problem resolved right away, it took few heat cycles (my truck is parked outside under hot summer California sunlight and ghost touch happens only after 10-15 minutes into driving with AC on) to have MyLink operate as intended. My ghost touch hasn't comeback since then.

    • @asianfire72
      @asianfire72 Год назад +2

      @@michaelshin4111 Thanks, yeah, I took it apart today and figured out what you were talking about. I was able to figure out where on the touchscreen it is ghosting, it is on the far right edge of the screen, I'll try to remove those screws and see what happens. Thank a lot!

    • @michaelshin4111
      @michaelshin4111 Год назад

      @@asianfire72, good luck! I am not an engineer but like to think I am somewhat handy as the next guy. I knew issue was related to temperature fluctuations, but how? Removed screws that might cause torsion on LCD during heat cycles as desperate attempt before I order LCD replacement. Didn't help and ghost touch came back same day. After few days, I've noticed faint flickering on my display while driving (with AC on) which went away next day and ghost touch hasn't come back since. Interestingly as long as backplate is secure with minimum number of screws, LCD panel is secure on the center console without deleted screws. I'd love to hear back from you if you were able to sort this out.

    • @asianfire72
      @asianfire72 Год назад +1

      @@michaelshin4111 So you have no screws at all that go into the back of the LCD screen itself? Just screws for the backplate are still there? The screen must "fit" into the backplate.
