I had friends who worked in Benitses in the late 80s to the mid 90s. I would regularly go over to see them. The place was mental, I mean it was wild. Anyone who went there at that time will remember what it was like. The resort was pretty run down and the authorities didn't invest in the local infrastructure. The big tour operators got sick of all the complaints and eventually pulled out en masse. It went from being a packed resort tona ghost town. I remember going in 95 and the place was empty. We had to go to the next resort Moratikka to find some life. It's good to see it has cleaned it's self up and holidaymakers have returned.
We stayed in Moratikka 1987 on our honeymoon. Back in the day we felt it was very quite, we had normally holidayed in Spain or the canaries which were a little more commercialised 👍☘️
My husband went to Benitses in 1985 on a lad’s holiday, think it was like Magaluf in those days 😂😂 congrats on 50K too 👍😀

Loving the videos, seeing different resorts! Benitses totally changed …. 80s and 90s was a club 18-30 party place. Believe there’s now a quite eerie deserted strip of closed down bars and clubs at one end of town, since the resort reinvented itself. Looks very nice now!

Hi went to Benitez’s way back in 1977 it’s changed beyond recognition we were across the road from the sea but it was very rocky enjoy your holiday 🤙🏻
Have loved seeing corfu had many a fab holiday there your videos have made me want to visit kassiopi and this place never been love the layed back feel of Greece compared to Spain always have keep up fab video’s kev doing amazing job 😘 x
Hiya Kevin, they WiFi is always pretty bad anywhere in greece 😅, also most apartments are outdated too! Maybe the expensive ones are more updated lol. Thanks for videos from Corfu, I love the Island but I love anywhere in Greece, but we usually go end of May early June, cheaper slightly cooler , not as busy and no school holiday's 😅. Can't wait to see where you're off to next, stay well and have fun.

this was my first lads holiday , totally changed it was a one horse town nothing happened during the day, boom night time it was jumping lol hope you video along the street see if I remember anywhere

You deffo should have got the ferry from Corfu to Sarande in Albania, I went last year and it's a very chilled out place and very cheap. I have also been to Tirana twice, Berat and Durres in Albania too. It's a very underated country and better than Greece in my opinion. Apartments are cheap in Albania as is all accommodation there.

Heyas Kev.I.N, great little walk about as others have said it was party central years back, but i never went, as always on transfer to the north. Talking about buses for years the local bus on Lesvos was a magnificent old Mercedes-Benz it was like travelling in a Merc car. Think it was every 2 hourly service 😯. It had a knowledgeable conductor who got everyone on and off as it was always rammed 😂 This was the Molivos to Petra and Anoxos route. On that holiday the rep on the coach said all her welcome speech and your all Lesbian's for a week or so🧐 That wouldnt be tolerated these days, thank goodness 👍

I haven't been to Benitses since 1980 before it became a party town. It was just a small fishing village starting to be noticed. I'd love to go back to Corfu but I don't want to ge somewhere that the 18 to 30s party.

It’s bizarre/ funny how places transform and go in/ out of fashion. In the mid 80s, Benitses was the party town in Corfu.
I went there in 85 and was in Sidari with my young family in 2008. Lovely island and I’d love to return again.

only been to corfu and cyprus so far , Protaras was my fav resort in Cyprus so far, Corfu town the nicest.

Went to belittles when I was 19 that's 42 years ago its unrecognisable, best part of the holiday was when the guy who owned our apartment said do you want a game of football the united team is here, turned out is was only Kevin Morgan on holiday, played on the same side has him.

I think there are still problems with Albanian pirates robbing Corfu tourists sailing down coast
Back in 90’s there was stories going around of the pirates Shooting at the beaches.
I actually did the boat trip from kavos to Greek mainland and the boat broke down and we had to be towed back 🤣 🛥️
