The one macing even threw up via the small gap he was sticking his arm through, I understand its hazardous conditions but that is just like squeezing a bull's balls if your worried about blind rage (pun fully intended). I understand its intents and use but in that case it's hard to not believe its excessive. Although since it's stated as his first operation I suppose it could be pawned as a "rookie move".
The "correction system" seems to forget its purpose. Most of these individuals do not have the communication/life skills to begin with. These instances only teach them that excessive force is the best way to get a point across which I think is objectively seen as unproductive. I'd go as far as to say that's a big reason America has an 80% recidivism rate after only 5 years out.

The "somebody borrowed it" guy was just playing a game. He knew all along that it wasn't there. As a rookie, you need to remember those guys and start writing them for everything. The lesson is you play games, you get inconvenienced. Stay off my radar.

These inmates get WAY too much freedom to move about and mouth off, should be kept more in check...

Nah these are still people despite their circumstances and so, in my opinion, should not be deprived of their freedoms to am extent. What you may define as “mouthing off” could be a way of protesting in their minds. If you eliminate this freedom of speech, even in prison, you create an even more hellish environment for people. Officers then have an easier time performing less than human actions towards prisoners. Although this video shows us good police officers, that is not the case in every prison.
