Hey CJ, I bought this gas cap from you guys and installed it last year, I’m having problems when I hit a bump that it pops open. Is there any remedies of keeping this thing closed tight so it doesn’t keep popping open? Thanks
@@seancunn4089 I sort of figured something out myself. After I would close the cap I would turn it just a hair and that helped. Also I took some backer rod weatherstripping, and split it in half and stuck it behind the hinges on the inside of the cap. That also helped. It's a trial and everything but as you can see no one from CJ ever wrote back to me I hope that works.
Hello I have a question, when I put gas into my car it leaks gasoline but not from the bottom like you’ll see in most videos it leaks between where you open up the gas cap and the nozzle that puts gas into the car and gas goes everywhere and creates a mess and gets on the paint. If you know why this happens and what I can do to prevent this some feedback would be great.
I need one of the angled metal washer with screw that holds the “button” to open the cap, and need the two screws that attach the two pieces of the cap together at the hinge. Where can I find these? I lost mine while cleaning it up :-(
Piece of Chinese crap retaining washers.... seriously. Took me like 1 hour to get this garbage crap on it. You guys need to start find other manufacturers, the quality of some components are total crap at best (in this case)
For everyone that owns a coupe, yes it will fit on a coupe. Bolts right in without any modifications
I love how he’s doing all this tiny detail work w/ mini parts and they’re just raging some hard metal in the background 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

This cap will not stay closed. Very frustrating!
Is there a kit like this with a locking mechanism in it ?

Happens to me too, even to the point where the paint came off. Have you found a fix?

Just watched Jo Daddy do this yesterday. His pop open lid was super sloppy. It might come open if you hit a bump.
So what's the point of the twist-on cap if it doesn't go anywhere?
can this work for 1969 coupe?
Yeah, coupe and fastback both have the same taillight panel
Is that a vented cap?
Do not crease the retaining washers. They will break. They are really cheap. Flatten them
i have one on my 1967 gt. most time i can't get it open. it has a gas cap.
It is not a vented cap for CA emissions
Can this be installed on a 65 mustang?
I hope this fits my 69 coupe bc i just ordered it haha
It would of been better without the music, I love metal but I want to hear what he is saying....
Thing never stays shut.
The reason I ask is because I have a 1970 Mustang Mach1 with Cal vapor emission tank.
They include the gas cap because they know the product doesn't stay shut.

Good video, but is the "music" really necessary?? Irritating after awhile......
