I feel your pain on the cracked cap for G40. I've lost a few brave markers to that fate (including my beloved YG91), and finding something to seal that crack has been a nightmare (best I've found so far is PL Premium - I pop the colour code off and put it in that inside chamber to seal it, but everything else I've tried just dissolves). You mentioned the cracks being super hard to see, and they absolutely are. What I've always done to check (and this sounds weird, so bear with me) is to put my lips on the cap base and see if I can pull air through it (like sucking air through a straw). If I can pull air through, then it has a crack; otherwise it would be airtight. Thank you for these comparison videos. They really help when deciding what markers I want to add to my collection next!
Oh my gosh this was the most amazing COPIC video I’ve watched in a very long time! Very helpful somehow in understanding the numbering system of kopeks I never quite realize that saturation had to do with gray tone (clearly I’m not an artist who knows color theory!). In any event this will help me be more successful and more intentional with my COPIC work and I am very appreciative. Luck of the Irish to you this month and I hope YOU have a colorful day! 😊
That was an incredibly helpful video- it’s nice to know that greens are inherently tricky to blend and unfortunately I purchased both sets of almost identical G’s 😏.
Thanks! I use a mix of things Jane. My two favorites are Hammermill and X-Press It Blending Card. The X-Press is pricey but probably the best for layering a lot of ink and blends really nicely. But I use the Hammermill a lot as well. Easy to get and much less expensive. I have used all three weights of their cardstock, 110, 80 and 60lb and like them all. The 60lb goes through my printer the most easily so with digital I use that. Hope that is helpful 😁
That’s a wonderful video. Where I could find the other one to learn more, please? Love it! Also where I can find the drawings you used? It’s fantastic to know and could do it by myself to remember it. I apreciate :) Thank you!
I am on my phone so tricker to link I think if you go to “playlists” there is a new playlist for color families. But I will come back and link the other tonight or tomorrow. The shamrock image you can find on my blog www.scrapweaver.com I think under the “shop online product” tab 😁 I can link that later too if you need.

Glad you have enjoyed! I will have the next one in 2 or 3 weeks! You might also like the “Finding Copic Color Combos” playlist. It is about how to pick colors to match photos and layer the colors.
Thanks for all your information, always helpful! I have a question about your marker that possibly has a crack in the lid - I have one or two markers that the nibs are that hard and dry and refills don't seem to make any difference. Is that nib shot? Can just the nib be replaced or should the marker be replaced? I've tried replacing one of the nibs but it just doesn't seem to help. Thanks for your help!!!
If you have already tried replacing the nib and it is still going bad you need to get a new marker. I always try the nib once just to avoid the bigger cost but I am guessing for mine a new marker is my only option.
Love the comparison

So glad this was helpful Katie! Yeah the gray part helps a lot! especially as you play with them more and want to continue to improve your coloring.
