Well, yes, but Marcy is written to be bland because like the above comment, she is bored of life and being the best. It's written in the script (which I have for temporary use as I am performing this musical).
Marcy is not written out to be Asian, the OG actress was. Also, I even prefer if they have a more diverse cast with a white Marcy, cause it doesn't play into the "asian genius" stereotype.

wow I really enjoyed her version of the character. a lot of people makes this character sad and bland but she excels with energy I love it
Im not saying I didn't enjoy this version, but Marcy is usually made out to be bland on purpose as it relates to her being completely bored of life.

Marcy doesn’t have to be asian. They chose the last name Park for a reason; it can be an asian surname or not
