    Thank you so much sir. Just a question for you, rRNA is an integral part of ribosomes then why don't ribosomes unable to understand the language of mRNA?

    • @GeneticsLessons
      @GeneticsLessons 3 года назад +1

      tRNA make things simpler, bringing amino acids to ribosome.

  • @Squire19lUK

    This may seem like a stupid question and sorry if it is, but why does it need to 4x4x4 variants, why not 4x4x4x4 and so on? Why couldn't codons be read in 4s or 5s not only 3?

    • @jess8370
      @jess8370 3 года назад +1

      it should be just enough, because 4x4x4x4 would be a lot of possibilities already

    • @jess8370
      @jess8370 3 года назад +1

      there would be too many possibilities for each amino acid!

    • @GeneticsLessons
      @GeneticsLessons 3 года назад +1

      We have 20 amino acids so 4x4 is 16 and not enough to specify 20 amino acids 4x4x4 is 64 so enough to specify 20 amino acids and 3 stop codons. 4x4x4x4 would be a way too excessive 256 combinations to specify 20 amino acids.
