Thank you!! We had so much fun together and have been puzzling more here in Slovenia. We are trying a different technique than what Alison and I do as pairs. So I need to try with Alison when I get back to NZ and see how we go.
I love Paperblanks puzzles and am so looking forward to seeing your video about that one. FYI the company was founded in Vancouver, Canada in 1992 but was bought by Hachette UK in 2022. Their puzzle line launched in the Fall of 2021 with four designs including Dharma Dragon (the one you have). They now have 21 designs. They're all sparkly and special, just like their notebooks. :) Loved seeing your whole haul. I hope you're able to get them all home without destroying more boxes (just wear a lot of clothing layers on the plane!). ;)
Thank you for the information - will be helpful when I come to do my video. Luckily I don't have that much clothing with me and am willing to leave being socks and underwear if I need as they are all coming home with me. My Precious! hehehe

Enchanted circus is beautiful!! I've never seen that before
There's a second one in the series which has the girl sitting in a boat. The only thing was that the image on the pieces is quite a bit darker than what's on the box. I've noticed that with Ravensburger puzzles lately.
So we had the unicorn one in pairs, and it was honestly a lot more difficult than you would think! Enjoyed it 100% though, especially since I fully expected the purple thunder instead... We managed it just in time, with I think 1 minute off qualifying.
The cow was awful though! So dark. And it was from round 1, group A - alongside the cacti, German castle and the garden. I soooo wished we'd gotten the Magical Forest instead, I love that illustration.
So close to qualifying - you did so well as the competition was next level tough this year! We had a blast - it was so much fun. So the cow was from group A - that group had the least desirable speed puzzling puzzles for sure! I'm glad to have bought a copy of the In the Magical Forest - can't wait to do it.
The name of the MGL artist for final individual competition puzzle is Jan Patrik Krasny. The original name of the artwork is "Community of Tigers" (If you look closely, you can see the JP Krasny in the bottom left corner of the image). He appears to be an artist from the Czech Republic that is most known for illustrating covers for science fiction and fantasy books. This is a beautiful image, but looks super difficult with all the fur from the many tigers.
Thank you! I have done other puzzles with their artwork on it. I wonder why they change the artwork's name?? Sometimes that makes it difficult to find it especially if they use multiple different names in the same language. The fur dogs look tricky - now sure if I could finish in 75mins which is what they had for the finals.

What a great collection of new puzzles! I am looking forward to seeing these puzzles in future videos. I really love the Dixit "Adventure' puzzle from your haul. The wonderful "In the Magical Forest" is currently only sold in Europe so I actually purchased it online for shipment to the US.
I wasn't sure of the puzzles name so thank you for letting me know. I was just so excited that it was a Dixit puzzle. I can't wait to do a full video on it and the store competition from next weekend. I can't wait to do "In the Magical Forest" as well. Hope you enjoy it!
So funny, I just bought that Dixit puzzle yesterday at a discount here ($3 Canadian) and I completed it last night. It was fun but I was cursing the small image. My poor eyes really need a bigger image or poster. Thanks for the update. I look forward to your future videos.
I think I will also be cursing the small image - no poster and just what's on the back of the box. Ugh! If they want to make puzzles, they need to put the effort into also including a poster I feel. Still excited to build it.
Schmidt is lovely, Disney Kinkade series is great, but they have many, many other fun pictures. Good choice to get this one from Europe. And Paperblanks is something else entirely - their quality is unmached!
Janette has a ton of the Schmidt Disney Kinkade puzzles and loves them. We will be going shopping today so I can buy one from the brand. And I so can't wait to do the Paperblanks puzzle - only heard great things about them.
Wow such an amazing puzzle haul. Glad you had fun in Spain. It literally pained me to hear you talk about cutting the boxes, but it makes sense. Bring more luggage next year!!
I will definitely bring another suitcase next year...but fair warning, will probably still break down the boxes if it means I can being home more puzzles. I know!! I know!! Just too many amazing puzzles that I can't get in NZ.

How big is your suitcase? I am amazed that you think you can fit that many puzzles in a suitcase. I did one Paperblank puzzle. The feel of the pieces is so satisfying.
It's just a standard-size check in bag so quite big and I didn't bring too much clothing luckily. I can't wait to try the Paperblanks puzzle.
What a magnificent haul! I think you'll really enjoy the Paperblanks puzzle. I have quite a few of them, they have a beautiful shimmery sheen finish on the pieces
Janette just pointed out to me that it has a gold foil or shimmer to the pieces - even more excited to try that puzzle now!
You'll love the one from Liberty Puzzles! Alice Rowe's parents also gifted me the one with the bicycle and I've done it three times already. Love the piece shape and quality. Enjoy the rest of your time in Slovenia!

It is Smögen. Hard G. Ö is pronounced like the E in her. I’ve walked on that boardwalk many many times. The pink boat is actually blue.
Thank you! I wonder why the boat appear a different colour - most likely has to do with light theory or colour correction. I would love to go somewhere and then see it in a puzzle image. That would be so cool!
@@fortheloveofpuzzles I think they just edited to picture to make the boat a different color. A shame if you ask me as that particular model is called a Smögen 45, ie named from the place (island). And the distinct blue color is one of the ways to identify it.
Piece Relax didn't offer to ship the puzzles home for you? Would have been very kind of them, especially since they sponsored your trip.......

Trust me when I say that they were more than generous with their sponsorship and support. I didn't expect them to pay hundreds of Euros to get these puzzles home. They have done so much for me already and breaking down the boxes really isn't a big deal to me. The tops are all that I need.
