In 2015 I started out at $15 being a muffler repair welder at a automotive plant. But now I’m a travel welder working on solar panels. I make $26 hr , $700 extra a week per diem with 50/55 hours a week. How much money you make depends on the job type/experience/skills . Weldon has MANY DIFFERENT CAREERS IN ONE.

you gotta think... in welding there is such a broad field. if you compare just "welding" to auto mechanics id say thats not really a good judgement of how much you can make in "Welding" in welding sure you could start at 46,000 but your room for growth so long you improve your skills is great, working on cars? ehhhh you gotta be a REAL hustler or work at a dealership to make over 100k in auto mechanics, in welding there's probably x times the opportunity to make over 100k being rig welding, your own business, pipeline, custom fab, the list goes on.... so to compare the two just like any other job listed in the fashion you did is not proper info. this could be my opinion though.
There are a lot of variables that go into comparing occupations/careers. Geography is a huge one. Welding is a great choice, but in specific markets, especially where the cost of living is lower. Also, better to do an occupation you have a high interest in. Working in a career you have a high interest in doesn't feel like working, giving you more endurance for overtime.

There's a welding school in my area charging 20k for a 7month program. Mon-fri 5 hours a day. They provide financial aid to help pay for the classes. I just want to know if the combo welding certificate is worth all that money
20k is insane for a 7 month program, either look for a cheaper option I paid around 5k (Canadian) for my course. Another option I would highly recommend is to find a job willing to hire an entry level welder and get some practice and experience that way.

I went to a welding school a trade school for 6 months and i became a professional welder at 18 im currently 19 and still working as a welder if you go in as a apprenticeship or helper it may take a while to you become a welder but you can learn stuff while you work and welding school cost money

I’d say it depends on how fast you want to be making good money. I’m not sure how much an associates would help in welding maybe you could get better opportunities for very high income idk. But that also means you have to take the time to earn it in college. Starting out the door in welding means you could be making money instantly, maybe less at first but still great money nonetheless

Describing welding (yes - a historically male-dominated profession) as one of the "manliest jobs out there" could deter women from the profession as well as provide insult to the over 31,000 women who already work in the industry. I don't see how this description added any value to this otherwise informative video.
