Thanks Paul. Great vid. I've just attached my badge to my car. Fingers crossed. Off to Italy. Had to get a badge from France (BipandGo) that covers Telepeage in Italy also. Emovis couldn't cover Italy. So rather than have two badges, I got mine sent over from France. It took nearly two weeks to arrive in the UK. Bear that in mind for your viewers. As I said, thanks for the vid. Regards, Grant.
Thanks Kevin. pleased you found it informative and best of luck on your travels. Its been a long wait but Europe will open up again soon. Thanks for watching.
Just a comment that some might find helpful. Arrived at my house in France to find the tag had been delivered (no signature required and came in an envelope that fitted easily through a letter slot). Fitted the tag in 5 minutes.
Yes it’s probably very similar. I used to use a tag for the Tyne Tunnel but that relied upon paying upfront. In Portugal they appear to be phasing out the actual Toll gates and instead have overhead gantries that don’t require you to slow down at all. You still get the bip in the cab to confirm otherwise they are almost invisible.
Thanks Paul, very helpful - have used the tag before (a few years ago) but was wondering where to stick it on my XC90 as the big gizmo thing in the top centre of the screen takes up a load of space. You answered my question in the VLOG! ill just pop it to the right, if we ever get to go. Keep up the good work, thanks Darren
Hi Allan. Have a good trip. I’m struggling to get time to edit content at the moment as I’m building a Narrowboat but I am taking plenty of content; just going to take a while to get it published.
Very useful vid, thanks for doing it. I’m going to spain in a couple of weeks. Can I ask once you’ve received the tag and paired with your account did it just work the very first toll you came up too? I’m nervous it won’t work 😬 thanks again.
Thanks Paul. Very helpful. Can you recall if the tag was sent recorded delivery or similar i.e. Did you need to sign for receipt? (I'm often away from home for several days / weeks at a time). Thanks.
Useful video, just doing research for our planned trip to FRance and Spain at the end of this year. I notice now that there are a number of companies offering this tag services, have you any views on which is best or have you just used the one is this video?
I only have experience of the one company so couldn’t comment on others. They seemed very professional and returned deposits promptly when the tags were returned so would have no reason to try others. Thanks for following.
Do you need to stick the tag on the windscreen or can the passenger just hold it against the windscreen with every toll passage? Really don’t want that stuck on my windscreen the rest of the year…😅
You should be able to just hold it against the windscreen. In fact it may even work just laid on the dashboard. It’s pretty small I don’t notice my tag at all.
Great video Paul. I am definitely going to use a tag when I next visit France. How does the tag handle the charging you the correct rate for the rig. When we have been on holiday we have used the toll roads while towing the van and while travelling solo eg while touring around from a site?
We spent three months away so used it with the van and also just with the 4x4. I admittedly didn’t check every single entry on my statement but I did check a lot. I assume it must recognise the size of your vehicle from the scanners and cameras at the gate. I have heard that sometimes it can fail and charge you the wrong rate, but it is just a case of emailing them to rectify and they do it immediately.
Great info Paul, I don’t know if I missed it or not , do you need a tag on the van as well as the car? I’ve been in France a few times with the van & that that the van is charged extra to go on the toll. What’s great about the tag is that you don’t need to try and get your passenger close to the toll booth. You can see all the scratches on the concrete walls.
Hi, pleased you liked the Vlog. The tag is only required on the car. The toll identifies through ‘wizardry’ if you have a caravan or not. I think the only exception I have found is that in Switzerland (if you have a very large tow car and large caravan that takes you over a limit) you require a vignette for both car and caravan just to travel into Switzerland. There is a fee to pay for every day you are in Switzerland even if you aren’t travelling; robbery! I found the tag quite good. No need to position the car close to the pay booth; it’s tricky enough getting an 8ft van through the narrow sections of toll without other distractions.
Thanks Paul, that's given me the confidence to get one. Good work Sir all the info I needed.
Excellent video. Very clear. Thanks
Thanks. Pleased you enjoyed it.

Excellent video again. Missed your videos. You explained the process well. I will probably get the tag from the Caravan club. Thanks
Thanks for following. I really ought to get my act together and get some videos out.
@@PaulMatsonMOTM Yes please. Definitely one of the most interesting videos. No waffle.

Very useful and informative video Paul, it seems to be much the same as the M6 toll tag which I used to use a lot for work before I retired.

Thanks for watching Darren. Yes worked fine in that position for France, Spain and Portugal. Have a good trip whenever it might be. All the best. Paul
Very helpful video - thanks
You're welcome!
Good video Paul, going to be in Fance for the 1st time later this year driving by myself and will definitely use a tag. Any new content due soon?

Yes. Worked immediately. No need to stop and activate it. I was ready with a credit card just in case but didn’t need it. Thanks for following.

The tag was delivered by normal mail. No signature necessary.

Pleased you liked it. I must admit watching it back I don’t seem very enthralled.
did you have to pay everything on the month after the trip or did you have to top up?
I want to go to Portugal and I want a tag to be easier but I don't know the payments would work out
You pay after. They make deduction from your account the month following the trip.
Thanks for the info, just to confirm does your deposit or deposit balance get returned after you’ve returned the tag.
Yes. On return of the tag the deposit is refunded.
Would this work with UK bank account?
Yes. It works with my U.K. bank account. Sorry for delay in responding.
It’s good information. Good that they refund the remaining money unlike our SALIK 😀
