    Thank you so very much my mother just had a double mastectomy stage 2 breast cancer. I do have medical knowledge and have been following everything after doing hours of research regarding the Jackson Pratt drain. But we've had two nights one which was 2 days after surgery where her underwear and shirt were completely soaked in serosanguineous fluid less than 15 minutes after removing the compression bra. We went through a similar situation but not as severe the night after. A lot of these JP drains I see use a larger diameter tubing than what was used. It's definitely been very busy being her caregiver when I'm on sick leave from work after fighting cancer twice myself and living in permanent pain since 2011. But God bless you and thank you for such a detailed video I've been doing everything right with hours of research beforehand but your video has been one of the best I have seen.

    I had some in 2017 after breast surgery. If it wasn’t for a friend who learned about these when another friend had a mastectomy I would have been lost. They said to stretch the tubes to clear any clots but you have no real idea what that means. My friend was stretching those tubes so far I thought they were going to snap back and put my eye out but she kept them clear of clots. I was blessed to have my own private nurse who had no fear when it came to me j tubes.

      I concur. She's very good at explaining things and actually showing what she's talking about which is a big plus for visual learners like myself.

    How do u flush it with saline?

    • @caringcasa
      @caringcasa  2 года назад

      You can gently milk the JP drain if clogged
      I’ll have to make a video to demonstrate safely. But no flushing with saline.
      Only for trained health care providers.
