Russian Tour 2015. Day 19 Festival of the Holy Name in St.Petersburg

Each time we come to Russia our visit to the St. Petersburg yatra is one of the highlights of our tour. Our visit this past week was no exception, as we had kirtan for hours each day with hundreds of devotees in their center downtown. All glories to Srila Prabhupada, by whose mercy the chanting of Lord Krsna's holy names have spread to every town and village in this land!

Look at all these people!!. Some look happy, Some shed tears!. Whatever emotions they are going through, it is stirring their souls and they all seem to be at peace. The world needs peace and I am happy that Sanatan Dharm is doing its bit in Russia. Irrespective, of what God one chooses to follow, I hope and pray that we all as Humans, can find peace instead of calling for holy wars.
I know Russia is pre-dominantly a Christian country and I appreciate the fact that the Russian people are open to other religious beliefs. Whether some of these people really follow Hinduism or just do it because it is so much fun to dance and sing, whatever be the motive, it still takes a big heart to allow other cultural beliefs and blend it into your own. Way to go Russia!! If everyone was as open and broad minded, the world we live would be heaven!!
