- I always say that I started and ended Beatrice Luigi Gomez’s reign in the same way: crying. But for two very different reasons.
In this video, I take you on a deeply personal journey-from feeling heartbroken when my pageant favorite didn’t win Miss Universe Philippines 2021, to realizing the incredible impact Bea had on me as a fan and content creator. Through every moment of doubt, criticism, and self-reflection, I learned a lesson that completely changed the way I see pageantry.

Bravo Luis. I take my thinking hat off to you. You put yourself under the magnifying glass. How often do we see honesty like this? I supported another beauty queen too. I was so sure she was going to nab the crown too. Not Kat. Someone else. But the night of the pageant Bea just exuded this aura of confidence. She stood out for me. I was still rooting for my girl but I thought Bea is going to do a repeat. In the Miss Cebu pageant she slayed everyone in the exact same way. Quietly confident, genuine & radiant. I do agree that the general consensus was not favorable to Bea. It was bullying to rave about her imperfections. Like we owe her an apology almost. But for me Bea is the best example of a genuine beauty queen. You can only sweet talk the public, media or judges for so long. If it's a mask you need to put on somehow you just can't sell it. Bea is who she is in front of the cam or in her house. No airs, no faking. P. S. Please don't omit the lip balm. It's a running joke over at my house that l need to put the lip balm on. It's luscious lips Luis video viewing time.
One reason I love Bea is she's a MARINE Reservist not only she's in beauty pageant but she's a fighter willing to defend and fight for the love of her country. My admiration and respect to this beautiful Queen Beatrice.
Beatrice was one of the Queens that i really related or connected to because i’m also very shy and quiet. But Bea still exuded confidence and proves that being quiet isn’t something that prevents someone from being a Miss Universe ❤

Your emotion that time Luis is valid. We have the same insight during MUPh 2021 because my personal bias to win the crown is Maureen. When Bea won the crown, honestly i'm not really satisfied. But when she competed in MU, she became one of my fave of all our deligate we ever sent.

I love that.. it's not about who? but how? ... I have the same mindset... I don't care who it is as long as they represent themselves well and the country. Because we have so many things to represent to showcase, and it's up to the candidate and the team behind her make it realise. some may have really some subjective opinions about her and just judge her not only in her reign but maybe as a person. Luis keep this kind of segment I love how it looks like we are just chatting over tea and have a discussion. I hope you can make it like this in other topics. By the way you glow up from a few years back, you look healthy and happy.
I never understood why everyone was upset when she won I loved her leading up to Miss Universe Philippines
Because she is not a favorite by majority thats all.

Bea is fierce has strong presence, unbothered which is unique for a beauty queen. Even me shock at first but when i saw her performance fierceness overload😊 that made her win the crown of MUPh.
Bea's also one of my top favorites. She is every inch a beauty queen on and off cam.

I loved her precisely because she was "different". As we lead up to MUPH, how about a "where are they now?" video, just showcasing the last 10 queens to keep it relevant.
So I relate when it comes to the favourites when they don't win and it feels like the world is crashing down on me. But I have also learnt not to be too invested. And in all competitions, we all have different expectations etc. Just like life is not always fair, We just have to embrace those decisions and take whatever learnings there are.
Bea caught my eyes when she was on the runway. together with other candidates. I was rooting for for her to win and she did !

I would love it if you made a MUPH winners retrospective because honestly, all issues with the org asides, the winners all deserved to win. (Maybe we can also use it to boost the 2025 candidates' chances of winning, as well!)
I feel if she delivered her answer for covid more clearly she may have one. She is one, if not my favourite. Catriona, Pia and Bea are my favs.
I was rooting for Kisses Delavin back then. Of course I have to support my province mate. However when Beatriz Luigi Gomez did her thing in that blue evening gown, with that look in her eyes, I was blown! More so with her short but substantial answer to the final question. I knew right away that she will get the crown not Ms Aberasture. I followed her journey. Yes, when she went to Israel I got worried, she's seldom featured during the pre-pageant activities. Then came the preliminary competitions and that Bulalakaw costume too. The presence of Pinoy fans showing their enthusiasm everytime she appears on stage was so electric! In fact Bea talked about the warm support from Pinoy fans who travelled long distance just to get there, inspired her too much. She was smiling all the time forgetting the change of facial expressions like she did in her MUPh performance.
As someone who’s done pageants, sometimes it’s hard to understand why a judge panel chooses a winner, and judge interview is normally where it’s at and we can’t see that. At the end of the day, only one girl can win and the odds aren’t great but staying true to yourself is paramount.

Beatrice Luigi Gomez, hailing from Cebu City, has always been my favorite beauty queen. From the moment I watched her introduction video for Miss Universe Philippines (MUPH), I was confident she would clinch the title. Despite facing criticism after her win, she demonstrated her worthiness without needing to prove anything, ultimately securing a spot in the Top 5 at the Miss Universe 2021 pageant. However, it was disheartening to see that upon her return to the Philippines, her achievements were not as widely celebrated as they deserved to be.

She is the most successful MUPH candidate after the franchise went to Shamcey, placing in the Top 5. She wasn't tipped to win MUPH. She wasn't even hyped at all. But it turned out she didn't need it.

I love Bea, I think she is a complete badass boss lady. She’s the quintessential cool girl. However, she was a much stronger, fiercer competitor during her nationals competition. If you compare her runway performance during MUPh and MU, the difference is night and day. The MUPh org watered her down like they did Rabiya, Celeste, and Chelsea.She could have placed even higher at MU if what we saw there was the Bea who competed at MUPh.
Bea could've entered the top 3. She had the most difficult question 😢

Beatrice Gomez and Michelle Dee are 2 of the best candidates the Philippines has sent in recent years. It's funny that in between their reigns was the weakest Filipina candidate ever since the start of this century.

Pageant fanatics,enthusiats whatever,always keep on saying the queen must be Authentic in her ways,style, self,even the face , must be authentic ,all authentic mga bajog tik-tik.lol.But, the only true authentic of every queen is her soul that transform and made it visible to herself only.lol.
Bea's MU Prelims performance wasn't her "being herself". It was her being the version Jonas Gaffud insisted her to be. IF you took the time to actually look into Bea's previous performances, her performance in the MUPh Prelims is THE Bea Luigi. That's how she's always performed, starting in her Cebu pageant stints. Jonas, like he always does, forced Bea into his own mold, stripping her of her innate spunk. Even Bea's styling during her MU stint was questionable. She had a strong backing and tons of resources from Cebu but Jonas turned those all away in favor of his kiss ass friends.
I beg to disagree.
Yes, her previous pageant stints pre MUPH were strong, killer as all of us know. But was that the real her? Or it's just for a show?
BOTH of them are BEA, just two different versions. But why her reserved 'version' managed to get her to TOP 5 at Miss Universe? Because that was the REAL her at the time. For some of you who don't know, before flying to Israel, Bea had a very publicized break up with her former partner. And people were VERY QUICK to paint her as THE CHEATER in the situation. It did not help that she never addressed the issue nor talked about it. Only later on that we know her side of the story. She was protecting her ex GF knowing fully well that she was the one cheated on.
Her Cebu pageants were different because she's in a different place, was with her ex GF. Her MU stint is different because she was going thru a difficult time in her life. But on both occasions, she still succeeded? Why? This is BEA's greatest strength - she knows how to ADAPT.
Also, let's not continue with this narrative of 'it was Jonas' doing', 'it was Jonas' fault' yada yada!
You make it sound that all the girls under Jonas DO NOT HAVE A MIND OF THEIR OWN and can't think for themselves. They are the ones who strutted in their swimsuits and gowns on stage, NOT JONAS. They are the ones ANSWERING the closed door interview questions, NOT JONAS.
So if the girl did good or bad, it's on them, NOT JONAS.
i dont see any changes about Bea's version. Even in national costumes, Cebu made excellent national costume for Bea, such as just upgrading the ultimate version of Bakunawa. If following Jonas decision, perhaps her costume will not Bakunawa. I guess MUPH knew that Beatrice can confidently reach in top 5 at firsthand.
