    Late to the party...but it would be great if people showing packs used a non camo version, it's much easier to see details. Says something for the effectiveness of the pattern I suppose..? Cheers, great packs..

    Evening mate, it would be interested in seeing the British army long back, to this version. The wast belt moves with your hips. Bloody good idea, but I bet it feels strange. Thanks for sharing. 👍😁🇬🇧

      It actually feels much more natural than the fixed waist belt. It is an innovation which is pretty common in the civilian outdoor industry

    Just found you, nice presentation, I think it's picking the right tool for the job, the first pack would be great for the observer carrying diverse kit, but I understand the marines wanting one big sack to stuff everything in and move (sort it later),
    I like the first pack, it would suit me so I hope that they don't ditch it,
    👍👍☕

    To be honest m8 i really like the design of the first bergen it looks like the dogs bollocks the zips on the side pouches, the top lid, the u zip on the front of the bergen...well the whole design of the bergen just looks new, crisp, fresh looking bit of kit. I like the first bergen all the best from the Brecon Beacons in South Wales

    This looks realy good. I cant gauge the back as it wasnt mentioned. But if the internal frame leaves a gap for ventilation it could well surpass the Crossfire, especially as internal frames are way lighter than external

      Both are really well thought out packs. I think it really comes to personal preference and how you like to carry your kit.

    New prototype then basically the same as the latest version of the Virtus bergen...apart from letting you use the old school, and superior, 10 litre side-pouches. Virtus straps are too far apart where attached to top of bergen...doesn't sit well on armour...OK without though.

    • @matthewwilliams2064
      @matthewwilliams2064 Год назад

      I agree no bergan sits good on armour. I would always go with a chest rig when carrying a large pack for any distance. If I was expecting an issue I would wear my plate carrier and a day sack.

    What do you think of Crossfire packs? Their made in Australia but they have a cult following in the US apparently

      From what we have seen they are really well made packs. The guys there are really cool and very knowledgable. As ever different things work for different people but they are certainly up there with Mystery Ranch and Snigel.

      The Cyclops Roc was a step change in pack design and the more modern Vulcan’s continue that design philosophy. Like many things it is very much down to personal preference. I have used both Berghaus and Karrimor SF over the years and they are good packs but this is my favourite.

      Why? if i may ask
      (i had the Atlas most of the Time when i was active.. which i had until it lost the inner Silicon lining. after like 20 or so years... threw it away... bought the Crusader FA.... - Would like to have the latest Model from Berghaus now :-) )

      @@easygroove my first pack was the cyclops Vulcan and like yours the pu coating peeled away and the seems blew. It had a good innings but only really lasted a few years. The Karrimor started to fall apart quicker and was less comfy. I found the Snigel the most comfy by far and the most ergonomic. It was so easy to access all the things I needed when I needed them.
