Six lead changes: still a Super Bowl record.
Sean C Hanley now co-leader ha!
Patriots have entered the chat
@@robertolopez1537 which super bowl where they in had six lead changes?
@@ogreman-lll-957 I misunderstood the comment. I thought he was referring to Superbowl wins. That's my bad
Real Reasons People Respects Terry Bradshaw
One of the better Super Bowls ever even if the final score was 31-19 (a 12 pt margin). The Rams led several times and even were up 19-17 early in the 4th quarter. LA was trailing 24-19 later in the 4th quarter but driving for a go ahead TD before Lambert's Int changed the game.
had cromwell not dropped that pick 6 and if Vince F. had seen a wide open waddy in the end zone, the outcome would have probably been different.
Not only that, but the Rams led at the end of the first, second, AND third quarters.
@@hotwax9376 The game, boys, is won in the fourth quarter.
This game was a lot closer than the final score.
the '70s were Great good time to be alive . . . .
shawn harold fox firth well if you skip or Sratch of the list of the gay parade I would say
This game was played in the first month of the 80s.
@@hotwax9376 It was the championship game for the NFL's 1979 season that happened to take place on January 20, 1980.
@@SuperAV21 I'm aware of that, but the calendar year was 1980, hence not the 70s anymore,
@@hotwax9376 1908 was part of the 1900s decade. I hope mean 1980. Anyway, there are people (of whom I dub them as the "15%") who go by the 1-10 method [due in part that we don't have a "Year 0" both in the Georgian & Julian (the former's predecessor) calendar systems]. 85% of us, on the other hand, go by the 0-9 method for calendar dates, the same we treat numbers as themselves.
Gotta give the Rams a lot of credit, they had the mighty Steel Curtain on their knees for 3 quarters. But the better team ultimately won.
Tell you one thing, the rams left it all on the field for this one. They played as hard as they could. Great freaking SB.
My rams felt short would be nice to play the patriots or steelers in the superbowl soon and win.
Sito Torres yeah man we arent close but happy for their steps in the right direction.
I think you guys are close to doing it!! The Rams are still young and this up coming season has tons of promise! I’m a 49ers fan btw.
Clash Of The Horns the Rams D is scary
You won it in 2000, even though the team was in St. Louis then.
Tony Romo is that you?
I may live in los angles but my team is pittsburgh steelers i respect rams fan👍
Rams defensive coordinator for this game was the Steelers defensive coordinator for their first two Superbowls. Bud Carson was the architect of the Steel Curtain in the early '70s. Bradshaw said it was like playing themselves!!!!
Stall worth’s catch was just....poetry man🤦🏻♂️it was just everything smh. The culmination of the steelers’ dominance of the 70s💯💯
The Steelers were in trouble for the first 2/3 of the game, but I remember a punt and kick returner who made some big returns and at least helped with the field position battle.
Larry Anderson set a then super bowl record for kick return yards
And that pick by Lambert late stalled what I believe I remember the last positive drive the Rams had that game.
Damn stallworth
I became a Rams fan that day.
I was pulling for the Rams, they fell short, I Believe even in defeat they gained a Huge amount of respect!
Don't worry, Kupp, Stafford and Donald delivered us to the promised land.
the Rams weren't the big underdogs , as falsely portrayed by the media...from 1973-1978, the 6 seasons prior to 1979, the L.A Rams had a combined record of 66-19, which was the best in pro football..also going to 5 NFC title games in 7 seasons leading up to this SB..but Bradshaw & the Steelers never beat the L.A Rams, losing to them in 71, 75 & 78...scoring just 10 points in 8 quarters of football, against that stout L.A Rams defense in 1975 & 78...Bradshaw and Co. had a ton of respect for the L.A Rams , heading into this game, as they knew first hand just how tough they were
conni70 Looking at the highlight reels from the years you mention the Rams had a very big play defense those years.
They were considered big underdogs because they finished that season 9-7 and had many aging veterans. Although the Rams were in hindsight, the best overall team of that decade, they just couldn't get to the big game for various reasons. Based on their record and talent, that team should have won multiple Super Bowls, but never did, just like the Tarkenton Vikings and Kelly Bills.
My rams chocked alot in the playoffs in the 70s. Especially vs the Viks.
I remember the scores of those two games. In 1975 it was 10-3.In 1978 the Rams had to come from behind to beat the Steelers 10-7. Both games were tough defensive games that I miss seeing in todays games. I am tired of seeing track meets and basketball scores. There was still plenty of offence in the '70s as it was more balanced. It is so one dimensional in today's game. Both were Sunday night games as the whole country got to see them.
In the 75' game, Pittsburgh rested all of the starters due to having locked up home field advantage in the playoffs, they weren't really playing for anything. The 78' game was a legit win for the Rams though. Super Bowl XIV was a competitive game for multiple reasons: the Rams were better than their 9-7 record indicated as you said, the Rams had 3 former Pittsburgh coaches on their personnel which included defensive coordinator Bud Carson who knew the Steelers defense inside and out and was also very familiar with their offense, Pittsburgh also had a few injuries (Jack Ham and Mike Wagner did not play at all in Super Bowl XIV) and Lynn Swann was knocked out of the game at one point as well. Pittsburgh won the game late by exploiting the weakness of the Rams, their secondary, which Bradshaw took advantage of throwing to Stallworth twice. Ferragamo's one mistake in the game, the interception to Lambert, also helped Pittsburgh. The Rams had some great teams in 70s and matched up against the Steelers better than most teams did at that time.
The Rams Shut Down The Steelers Running Game ,Took Away Their Short Passing Game ,Knocked Out Lynn Swann ,And Forced The Steelers To Win The Game With Long Bombs To John Stallworth And The Steelers Still Won !!
Ill forever hate the Steelers
Cowboys fan here. I was in the 3rd grade when this game was played. I only saw the last 2 minutes because I was in the evening service at church. B.T.U started at 5:30 and the whole service wasn't over until 8. Who remembers those days?
If Cromwell does not drop a sure pick 6, LA wins this game.
Maybe, one Steeler lineman was moving towards Cromwell. We will never know since Nolan dropped it. Very unlike him.
The Rams played hard. They didn't quit. Their time would come twenty years later.
Almost makes you wonder why Bradshaw was named MVP instead of Stallworth?
He bagged 3 TDS and 309 yds for a passer rating of over 100.
@@sastryvnk4402 Had 2 TD throws and 3 interceptions. Stallworth should have won the MVP
I can’t watch Lynn Swann getting injured
This was a great time in sports.
Steelers are the greatest dynasty ever not even the haters can deny that.
Lonny Bustamante umm I'm a raider fan I even say the pats were
Elaine Coger 6>5 facts
Lonny Bustamante Patriots
no way...the Packers are the greatest organization of all time..and i hate the Pack, but i'm also not an idiot..i give credit where credit is due..the Packers are the only organization to win multiple championships pre super bowl, and super bowl era...don't forget, pre super bowl era, your Steelers were a shitty organization, the Cleveland Browns doormat for decades..
that's a fact
RIP Steve Mcnair!
Could we see a rematch
Now this will be the Jerome Bettis Bowl
0:40 😂😂
I'm a steelers fan
These WR did this with no gloves back then in 2020 you can wear gloves to just stick to the ball and some of these WR can’t catch sh$$
Go L.A. Rams. ALWAYS!!!
@Jerry Junior Official yikes
Why does the film look so old lol
It’s from 1979 what do you expect
I cant wait to Be in the nfl

It’s awesome to see Terry Bradshaw so young!!!back when football was football and I hate the new redskins name!!!! It’s asz!! Commanders!!! No
Should have been the oilers
Frozen Lava101 Yeah right
The missed touchdown call in the AFC championship game.
@@tomfrankiewicz7951 That only would have tied the game 17-17. Steelers ended up winning 27-13. Oilers were fortunate to even be in that game. Their offense didn't do crap. Campbell was stuffed all day to the tune of 17 carries for 15 yards!! Their only TD was a 75 yard interception return by Vernon Perry.
Yeah if they had drafted Warren Moon in 78 they would have beaten the Steelers.
@@williecheeks8472 Houston drafted Gifford Nielsen in 78 and he orchestrated the upset of 'Air Coryell' in San Diego before the Oilers played Pittsburgh
