    Anand Has Mentioned in several Interviews that His relationship with Kasparov was really cold...Kasparov took Rivalry off the Board too.

    • @hansmahr8627
      @hansmahr8627 5 лет назад +65

      When Kasparov was still active, everyone had a strained relationship with him. Kasparov was so insanely competitive that it was impossible for other players to become friends with him, especially since he wasn't above using low blows to get ahead. During his match with Anand for example, he behaved pretty badly after he had lost game 9. In game 10, he stormed into the playing hall like a raging bull, smashed the pieces on the board when he made a move and then stormed out again, slamming the door behind him. There's an interesting book called 'The day Kasparov quit chess' which contains a lot of interviews with top players from the 90s, including one with Anand where he talks about his match with Kasparov and his relationship with him. There's also another interview in there with Kramnik where he talks about Kasparov spreading rumors about him, for example that he had bought a game from Gelfand. Basically, Kasparov was a huge asshole when he was still active.

    i always believed that its Anand who is Bharat Ratna of sports and not sachin tendulkar. there are reasons for it . sachin had people like gavaskar and kapil dev and whole others to emulate, and even during his time sachin had other solid players like ganguly and dravid but Anand just created his image as pioneer of chess in india .

    what i don't like about chessplayers is exactly what anand tell about himself here. they like to get lost in the chess world and this makes them have simplistic opinions about other topics. for example here he was harsh on kasparov not winning chess politics and he did not mention what a corrupt organization fide is. one of the reasons fide is like this is silence of grandmasters in the chess world. "they want to be left alone playing chess"

    • @KeepChessSimple
