Something else that needs to be thought about when choosing your hauling animal, is that how much they can carry as that can mean the labrador has to move back and forth more times meaning more time it takes as well, however thats usually not a big concern but it is a factor.

What I love most about this is that Troy is explicitly aggressively asexual and totally uninterested in anyone. I can only imagine him watching the hetero chicanery with increasing amusement with every interaction reaffirming how asexual he is. XD

Weapons have a high value, but sell for a paltry sum for balancing reasons, since all raiders drop them. Having a lot of unused weapons in stockpile increases your colony wealth, which in turn increase the size of raids. Smelting them is useful, as steel has low value in comparison.
Everyone in my area has multiple firearms. What we don't have is rioting, looting and protesters getting in your face when you are just going about your day. We do have common courtesy, decency and low crime rates. You do the math.

Suggestion: Putting a door in the kitchen area leading to the Hydroponics area will save you a lot of time hauling rice to be prepared. Comment: The artist who brought Steak, and Redhawk to life is amazing!
@@ACID_ In my experience that isn't that much of a problem. In my playthrough I didn't even put floors in my kitchen, it's all on dirt, and my colonists almost never get food poisoning. Maybe they changed that mechanic to make it less likely

To me, this rimworld crew is the one from the show The Expanse, at least to some degree. Steak and Redhawk being the leading couple, Edmo the cold-hearted dude, with some confusing views on Redhawk, and Troy being the Geek. (Oversimplified, but hey it works)
I love how this feels much more like a place that's becoming a home for these people vs the ice sheet, which felt much more like a bunch of people hollowing out an existence and doing whatever they needed to to survive. I imagine this becoming a story where eventually Steak's hovel turns into a massive bustling hub of some kind
As long as you can afford it I feel like you should keep the husky...for really no other reason other than it reminds me of the ice sheet survival series and I am already loving her for some reason...But I mean it is still a very useful animal and I mean..look at her! She is so cute!

Not just that, but a mechanoid barely gives you enough steel for half a knife. I feel like the balance swing swung a bit too far from where it had been.
Sure, mecanoids are the main way i get plasteel in my colony. This makes me wonder if i am going to update my game or not, since the newest update doesnt add that much.

Art Teacher: Troy's 'Field' shows Troy represented as an octopus. The fact that he is playing chess with 5 combat drones represents Troy's life of complicated battles with danger. However, the fact that he has 3 tentacles free represents Troys free time were he would construct sculptures. Overall, the sculpture shows Troy struggling with his fights to protect the colony whilst finding enjoyment in his free time. Troy: What's the weirdest thing I can think of today?

Also not very civilized, but better than to slaughter him for food and in a colony with scarce resource probably reasonable. The minmax game choice, now that the other dogs are present and can reproduce, would be to get rid of the inferior nutrition to hauling unit. I wanted to present a solution that makes internal sense, doesn't kill the dog outright and doesn't just keep him on despite that role being filled otherwise. :)

Small tip I saw on another Rimworld series for defenses: Enemies cannot stop on sandbags, so you can wrap a few of them around corners to prevent enemies from taking cover and force them out into the open.
I found your channel when you posted episode 20, so naturally I binged every episode. Then, I saw you still didn't upload anything so I binged your whole xcom playlist. Finished it yesterday, so I started watching the ME1 series. It might be because of the commentary being well scripted, but something about your playthroughs is extremely entertaining. Might need to think about outsourcing part of the work to manage to post more often.

I live in South Africa and have a husky, it's very true that they can tolerate high temps, so you getting one amused me! The labradors are a great bit of luck, I remember having several (in game) and they bred several at a time so I made a lot of money trading them to a nearby town.
May I suggest you store your raw materials, steel, blocks, etc, on the rock flooring in the growing zone north of your stock room. It won’t deteriorate and frees up space for more delicate items. Great series, keep up the good work.
The duck shelter has still a wooden wall/door what could lead to burned ducks, furthermore could you put the door that leads to them to the inside of the base.
I watched all of the ice sheet series took me like 2 weeks now im watching this series and I know I'm late to give input but I really enjoy hearing about the sculptures and the background to them. I'd also like to see a series based on being rich and getting your wealth up as much as possible.
Honestly, I feel like a build up episode is good as well. I just feel a bit worried that I woke up deciding to be productive, then I saw Pete had uploaded and now I realized that I had research and building to do on my colo... I mean, home.
One big thing you forgot when talking about the efficiency is the huge impact the carrying capacity has. Yes, a labrador eats less food per day but if you keep them for a long time in your colony, you can add up the added amount of time they spend hauling each full stack twice. The second, also very important thing is that Huskies are a safer investment. With their higher DPS, they are much more likely to stand their own against smaller threats like foxes etc and can even survive insect attacks if travelling together. Of course in Rimworld, combat is always relying on chance, but the higher chance to keep your pets/hauling slaves is when you have huskies. Finally, when all goes to sh*t and it comes down to you or your dog, your huskies give you more meat back then your labradors. This can already be seen with the unwanted kids, so having huskies makes it easier to produce kibble for the rest :P Thats my statement on why huskies are superior to labradors. Do with it as you please LOL

You should unlock the meditation spot so anyone can use it for recreation, since Steak gets more focus from the throne.

I live in South Africa and have a husky, it's very true that they can tolerate high temps, so you getting one amused me! The labradors are a great bit of luck, I remember having several (in game) and they bred several at a time so I made a lot of money trading them to a nearby town.

May I suggest you store your raw materials, steel, blocks, etc, on the rock flooring in the growing zone north of your stock room. It won’t deteriorate and frees up space for more delicate items.

The duck shelter has still a wooden wall/door what could lead to burned ducks, furthermore could you put the door that leads to them to the inside of the base.

I watched all of the ice sheet series took me like 2 weeks now im watching this series and I know I'm late to give input but I really enjoy hearing about the sculptures and the background to them. I'd also like to see a series based on being rich and getting your wealth up as much as possible.

Honestly, I feel like a build up episode is good as well. I just feel a bit worried that I woke up deciding to be productive, then I saw Pete had uploaded and now I realized that I had research and building to do on my colo... I mean, home.
One big thing you forgot when talking about the efficiency is the huge impact the carrying capacity has. Yes, a labrador eats less food per day but if you keep them for a long time in your colony, you can add up the added amount of time they spend hauling each full stack twice.
The second, also very important thing is that Huskies are a safer investment. With their higher DPS, they are much more likely to stand their own against smaller threats like foxes etc and can even survive insect attacks if travelling together. Of course in Rimworld, combat is always relying on chance, but the higher chance to keep your pets/hauling slaves is when you have huskies.
Finally, when all goes to sh*t and it comes down to you or your dog, your huskies give you more meat back then your labradors. This can already be seen with the unwanted kids, so having huskies makes it easier to produce kibble for the rest :P
Thats my statement on why huskies are superior to labradors. Do with it as you please LOL
