Thank you dear. To determine the width, you’ll have to take the measurement from the center back, across the upper arm to the front where the cape terminated. I hope this makes sense because it’s better explained with demonstration.
You’re welcome ❤️. If you’re attaching it to a dress, you’ll have to use the same neckline width of the dress to cut the neckline of the cape . I hope this answers the question.
Thank you dear. The 5 is not standard but this can go for almost everyone but that is dependent on the neckline width. With the same shoulder measurement as the one I used (15+1) and a wider neckline width of about 3”, you’ll have to use 4.5” instead of 5 unless if the shoulder is 16, then you can use same 5. Also if the neckline width is 3.5,you’ll have to use 4”.In conclusion, it depends on the neckline width and shoulder measurement. I hope this makes sense enough 😊
You just got a new subscriber I didn't even have to watch it before subscribing Just seeing the picture Mehn I realized i have had this style on my phone for a long time. Thanks for this.
If you want to attach it to a gown, make sure you use the same width for the neckline. Also, you’ll not be stitching the neckline area before attaching it to the gown, you’ll have to use the linen of the gown to turn them out. I hope this answers your question. Thanks for watching
It is for body sizes from a small to large but for bigger body sizes with shoulder measurement of 16” and above, you’ll have to increase the shoulder measurement. Also, the neckline width plays a major role in the 5” mark downwards.
If you want to attach it to a dress permanently, you’ll have to do that at the neckline area. That means, you won’t stitch the neckline of the cape separately, you’ll have to stitch it to the neckline of the dress.
Thank you ❤️. Yes that’s because I didn’t make mine with the intention of sewing it together to a dress but the whole idea is to know how to go about the cape making. With little alteration, you can achieve exactly the type you can attach to a dress. Thank you for the observation
To avoid falling off, you can either tack it on the dress, attach a strap to the cape so you can knot beautifully or make use of a brooch(which can also serve as a decorative accessory)
I so love this🥰 very detailed, brief and simple 👍. Thanks ma'am.

How can it be join with dress not on dress
Tnx
Thank you ❤️
To join it with a dress, you don’t have to stitch the neck area of the jacket, instead you’ll stitch it to the neckline of the dress.
Can you use a shoulder pad to give the shoulders a more portruded structure?
Of course you can. Thanks

For the finishing at the shoulder, you’ll have to pick shoulder side and the 5” upward and join together.
