    Wonderfully informative for installers. How about the end users when these things fail? Not a word from JCC on how to replace/fix without destroying the ceiling.

    Fitted 8 of these V50’s today, nice and quick to connect, loved the ease of the push fit terminations 👌 looks smart too.

    I used to be a JCC ip66 user but after the stupid level failures I’ve had to switch (no pun)
    The 5year guarantee isn’t a cast iron thing. I’ve got clients that have been sent replacements that don’t match what failed in the first place.
    Led 6’s, 7’s and the hybrid 7 and 9’s ranges were terrible with failure rates I couldn’t be associated with any longer.
    Yet I still use the JCC cans which all my clients love (being able to change the gu10)
    I’ve had paint peeling bezels in one kitchen after 18 months of use.
    The connections in one batch hybrids didn’t make any sense either with the colours brown/ green/ blue / blue / green /brown yet the letters above said N / E / L / L / E/ N ???
    Probably a pub lunch that day on the production line?
    It’s going to take a lot to switch back.

    Decent downlights & relatively quick to install. However it’s not possible to do an insulation resistance test even with the lamps disconnected so the cables have to taken out of the driver. I didn’t find the push fit connections easy to disconnect either. They connect in easy but taking them out was hassle especially when I had 30 of them to do!
    Good video again

    I used to sell leviton products and trust this brand. here in North America, its a staple electrical brand and I buy it on a regular basis. I'll have to check out the JCC website to see what all they offer.... thats one cool looking lamp!

    The only trouble with them all in fittings is you have to connect all the cables together to get your L/N test results before you connect them to the fittings,best way if they come with a plug that you can do your Megger tests then plug in to the fitting .

      In australia we have 413s which is basicly a single socket which a clear back. So we wire all our lighting feeds into these and all our down lights come with a plug top on the end. Great for testing and speedy second fixing

      @@sparkymalarky4322 hi,glad you agree ,I have also come across a bad batch ,which I used on 2 jobs,had to go back each time wasting my labour,won't use them again,I use the bog standard type ,which you can 2nd fix then put the gu led type bulbs after testing,so if a bulb goes the customer can change them,I have over 20 on my house which I put in 5 years ago ,and not one bulb has gone,have a good day down under ☀️

    Use them almost everyday, although away to change to the bright source solo or the crompton fire safe, I like the fact with the others you get extra covers of bezels so that one box does multiple customers needs, i also think the price needs to drop abit as I can get a v50 for £11 and a solo for 11.50 and the solo is 910lm and the v50 is only 650lm

    • @ryanmilne1987
      @ryanmilne1987 3 года назад

      I know the v50 is 7.5w and the solo is 10 watt but even the crompton is 8w and 700lm

    Can I change this to a removable bulb fitting from jcc? The one I have only has 3 wires where this one has 6

    How do you remove these to replace? Four have failed in our kitchen. I can't seem to pull them out of the ceiling. I'm, afraid of breaking something.

    I switched over to these about a year ago, and they are really good, some people slag JCC off, but personally I have never had any issue, there was a faulty batch last year, I didn't have any but it was nothing serious.
    I tend to buy the fittings I need and terminate them on first fix, and when I second fix it's super quick. Really impressed with these fittings, one slight negative, the connections can be a pig sometimes.

    It burns out after half a year use. It is much more troublesome to replace when compared to other product. If I had a choice, I would never use something like this again

      The fixture doesn't have a traditional bulb you would need to change the whole fixture.

    How on earth do you release the cables?

    • @paullee7760
      @paullee7760 8 месяцев назад

      It turns out it’s actually quite easy…lol After failing to find anything online I just had a closer look and a play around with one for 5 mins. On top of the grey connection where the wire terminates there is a flathead shaped slot. Push it down and the wire will release. Obviously it’s easier if you can press all 3 down simultaneously. After you’ve done a couple it’s not too difficult. 👍🏻
